Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Apparantly...heard...rumours...offers etc etc etc

Just wondering can any person within VMware confirm they received an offer as of yet?

In US more importantly as it seems you will hear first, but in general, anything offered by BC?

IC here (Comm SE). I rcv’d a call last week from 1st line saying BCOM has selected me for retention, and she (1st line) was notified that BCOM selected her as well.

You are the reason this is the best thing to happen at VMware for quite some time. Good luck in the real world, only places like VMware inflate 'titles'

I am director level and declined an offer 2 weeks ago. All VP’s have been offered or notified they will not be kept. Also, by ‘offered’ that can mean given a job that is far below their current status and as low as individual contributor.

VP level already know and are planning re-org, territory and responsibility mapping under Broadcom. Key/critical staff (engineering) may have already been contacted for more lead time to negotiate staying or allow more time to find replacements, but 99% of employees below VP level are still just sitting on their hands and waiting.

"VMware leadership have gone into shutdown for their teams."

More so than usual?

In my BU, VMW has been running on autopilot for some time now. No change.

"I'm 100% confident that once someone actually receives one it will be posted here without someone having to ask. Until then, it's just lazy and bored people stirring the pot"

I beg to differ. On the contrary, nothing of any meaning has been communicated; heresay at most and a couple of trolls/actual sources communicating on this playform???

VMware leadership have gone into shutdown for their teams.

It is literally agonising the last week when talking with colleagues across the globe. "They" have been put on a stay list, or were offered to move to another BU on a stay list. No official offer from BC BTW.

Offers will be received before severance. This is fact!

So majority of your "stay team" could possibly know their fate before yours?

How are leadership working on communicating this? As it occurs? Or ignore until the dust settles?

What happens with VPs is not consistent with what happens with others. They're a whole other category, and no one cares. The focus is Sr. Dirs and below.

You are naive if you think VPs and above (that are retained) have not received offers yet.

Of my rather broad group of friends at VMware, I know of none who've gotten an offer letter so far. From IC level up to S. Director.
