Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Does anyone else think Tom sounds like a raging a**ho-e?

Like RTO - ok.. conform to new policies and PTO, ok... layoffs ok.. all of this is pretty much expected in a buyout\merger. Maybe we agree, maybe we dont; but this trash talk about how we hide at home and do less or avoid tasks just comes across as "you're lazy and entitled and under my regime you will work with the WHIP!" What's the long term plan here? To continue talking sh-t to your employees until you get only people that care about the dollar and no respect for their work or management or team? That sounds not cost effective, and I thought that was his goal? It's CRAZY how unmotivating rudness is.

I hear that you need people to quit because Vista can't even afford severance, we all read that article too. But really, is it hard to just be respectful in the change? No?

His disrespectful manner is designed to offend. Nobody can accidentally be that rude, at his level.
He knows very well that most people worked their arses off during the pandemic, some of us in very poor conditions, with no dedicated office room at home, sh-t monitor set up and so on. My eyesight has deteriorated because of the extra hours and the bad working conditions. It is possible that my team is different to others, in that work-life balance (aka having the decency to respect lunch breaks and not organize meetings at those times) was seen as expendable. Still, the combination of poor management and the new, even worse, ethics of the company being created, make me want to leave this place asap.

In my 35+ years of professional life I have never seen a new CEO generate a negative response even remotely like Krause. Everyone I know in Citrix put in tons of unpaid overtime in the last two years - we HAD to, to keep up with the workload generated by the whole US going to remote work, and us being one of the major providers of remote software capabilities.

For Krause to go up there and not only just sh*t on all the free hours Citrix got from its employees thanks to working from home, but go on and suggest that rather than providing free work to citrix, we were 'stealing' by moonlighting multiple jobs? I have never been so disrespected by any person at any level of management in any position I've ever held - let alone right after two years of working my a-s off above and beyond the hours I'm actually paid for.

The people who he insulted the worst were the really dedicated people who went above and beyond without any compensation, just because we wanted Citrix to succeed. Those are the employees he most needed to keep. And those will be the first to go kthxbye after this cr-p.

I have zero interest or incentive to work for any company that has this a**clown as its chief executive. And I know I'm far from alone.

Well, with the amount of things I'm responsible for, when (not if) I leave, Citrix will find out how "lazy" I was, when they need to hire 3-4 people to replace me...

Today’s email just shows TKs real feelings.
For someone that is making so much money I felt he’s unprofessional and amateur.
Trying to get people upset to get them to quit on their own so he can save more $ its just extreme greed

Some of the executives were caught moonlighting on other company boards.

TIBCO person here

TK has the best CEO quotes ever “we must do what is best for the business”
“We are all adults here”
And let’s not forget it is in our best interest to work from an office so that we cannot moonlight at other companies.

When is he going to get laid off?

Despite his best effort to push us out are we expecting our bonuses as promised before the sale?

Seriously, I don't understand your surprise. Why do you even ask for respect? Krause doesn't try to hide the ultimate goal of his appointment as CEO. He has repeatedly made it clear that he was hired to optimize and dispose of these legacy software companies that have failed to deliver adequate returns to shareholders.

To me, he sounds exactly like the person the PE owners knew they needed to extract the remaining cash that can be taken out of the legacy installed base at the lowest cost. You are a lazy and entitled "cost item" on his spreadsheet. Nothing more.

Agree 100%. Of course, like the majority of corporate CEOs, he's an a-ho-e. The insulting RTO part of the email this morning has inspired me even more to start looking for another job. I know that's what the ELT wants. But I don't care anymore.

I thought his message to remote employees was very demeaning. Also, he keeps bringing up work from home at Citrix was due to COVID. He doesn't even understand our product or our message.
