April 2023, laid off along with 4 others from team. At VP level , 10 percent of folks were let go. Being with company for 10 plus years. I was never a slacker , showing enthusiasm for work always. Could not understand the criteria. management is very good to show the glossy picture.

I doubt there will be layoffs. Work is very busy and stable right now. Plus, we are the industry leader. Don’t fix it if it’s not broken.

To the original poster:
You'll have to wait until mid-February of 2024 when the 10-K is released. That's the only transparency you'll get on the headcount. Until then, fear is the unspoken cornerstone value of the leadership. All the happy talk is meaningless.
And to the "I'm at a high level and I know what's up" poster:
We actually believe you are who you say you are, based on your charming comments to your colleagues. Your attitude towards the workforce fits like a glove.

It’s not an official layoff unless it’s in a WARN report.

T-Mobile can run by itself with less than 500 employees.

It took a while to put my finger on the root cause of the problem. Tmo is a Marxist organization that pushes Marxism like DEI and CRT and without filters or explanation. The r2d2 rollout was a Marxists execution and the leadership commies on top all benefit from the failures while those that struggled get the chop.

I know for a fact that TMO had layoffs between 2020 and 2023. Many on this forum stated they were impacted. We know year over year TMO has declined employee roster. We know that they also are hiring. 1-3% attrition rate is complete cr-p for explaining this. TMO has been trying to get rid of older talent at the top of the pay scales to replace with cheaper talent. Sometimes younger, cheaper demographics, or foreign. I am going to be contacting contacting my congress to let them know that TMO has lied. They have gone around the WARN act by having micro layoffs. Constructively, TMO has slashed more than 15k jobs since the merger. Doing this less than 500 a month since 2020 or shifting people to partners where they can later get slashed. This company is not the uncarrier. They lost their way. The supposed senior exec “and I would know” is just evidence of this garbage mentality. If you are thinking of going to TMO, hopefully you a different choice. If you are thinking of leaving, do it when you can. This company doesn’t care about its stakeholders anymore.

most large businesses have 1-3% attrition every year. The year over year reduction could be from people quitting and simply not being replaced. We've had many like that on our team. Try again Karen.

They’ll be combining T100 and SMRA. Overlapping roles will see a layoff. Simple and predictable as this happened every year since merger. I would expect this to happen by June or latest before Q3. I would also expect the new Sr Managers for Metro will be let go before year end including the Sr Manager roles for SMRA for Q3 or earlier.

End of year 2021 there were 75000 employees.
End of year 2022 there were 71000 employees.

Thus 4000 people were laid off in 2022. We are being told to cut expenses to the extent that if you overspend by a $1000 you're being called on the carpet. The highest expense we have is people. I'd expect the total number of employees at the end of 2023 to be near 68000.

Please stop the fear mongering. Layoff rumors are nothing but a hoax by our competition to undermine cohesion. Doubt me? Go look for us and our competition in the WARN reports. VERY CLEARLY T-MOBILE LAYOFF RUMOR IS A HOAX.

This is “And I would know”. I’m at a high level and there is no SMRA layoff planned. Beyond that, fu-k you, I’m not telling you sh-t.

Come back in a month and tell me I’m right.

“And I would know”. Please tell me your position and if not your name. Based on history, TMO has done micro layoffs practically every month since 2020. This is to avoid WARN. If TMO is done that would be good news indeed. Just I don’t trust an anonymous post saying you know.

Completely untrue on SMRA/Top 100. Nothing will happen on April 1, nor for the rest of the year. And I would know.

There is an effort to reduce the generational gap amongst the employees. Many that have been with the company for 20+ years will be laid off. Going forward there are no rewards for loyalty and experience.
