@4usd+17yAB614 the time to leave was December - February. Companies aren't really hiring much and most GE employees aren't competitive enough for the few slots

Sorry , but Wuhan (yes, that Wuhan) Boiler sounds like a good thing to divest. Coal fired boilers for steam turbines don't exactly seem primed for growth. Alstom bought it for some $50M in 2007, if GE can get several hundred million for it, doesn't sound like a bad deal.

The GE Snake Oil salesmen at the Top of GE's little world are having a field day spewing the benefits of their Miracle Cures for all of the GE World's ailments.
A Sell Off' sold as Good News, presented as a real special deal for Share Holders and the Non-Essential, Poor Excuses, for LABORERS at the bottom of the heap.

The company can lay off people regardless of the audit. An audit of the union finances has nothing to do with the company laying off employees. That’s a ridiculous statement. Do you know what “sweetheart deal” means? Google it. The reason lay offs are possible is because of the sweetheart deal made by the union. It is not a good thing.

2qda+17yAB614- you must be one of those special kind of people. They can’t sell anything from power without taking a huge hit. The demand for the junk that is made in 273 is pretty much non essential. The reason the company has not made the big cut yet is because the audit that is being done. And that BS sweetheart deal made by the union. Come March 273 will be reduced to half

I heard audit is going back years. These Union guys might finally get what they deserve. The company too. They’re looking at it all.

Anyone with a brain left GE. All that remains are the unmotivated lazy slobs. 273 doesn’t make anything, you just assemble parts made in different countries. Truly “skilled” labor. The union heads are pawns that are paid top dollar by the business to get what they want. If you only new the package deals the retired union head got on their way out.

If Culp can recover any money at all from the Alstom deal, it's not a bad thing.
