Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Q’s CAD team should be defunded

Recently experienced this, filed a bug to CAD team to fix and waited like 3 weeks, and all they said is because they worried fixing might break other things and they were lack of people so they wouldn’t fix this bug.. I mean what the heck, if they don’t even do their basic job, then why on earth Q needs them? Isn’t it their job to make sure all tools working as expected and not break anything? I can understand if there is bug when they tried, then we can keep working until it is fixed once and all, but with their mind and this attitude , we should never file any bug to them because fixing it might break others… what a incompetent organization! I would think this is what their upper management told them to say, and it is over used like they were really busy, but in reality the tools are buggy and all they were busy is replying emails.. why not layoff these mo--ns and keep the ones who work hard. No wonder Q is going downhills.

As a former employee of QCAD, I find this whole thread hilarious and disheartening at the same time.
Q was good to me; I wish the best for those that remain.

Definitely not licensing CAD IP.

Anything else you wanna talk about that is completely irrelevant.

Not sure where anyone got the idea QCOM doesn’t sell software, but it most definitely licenses its IP.

The cad organization that you talk about comprises of a whopping 100 folks in total. Compare that to the 10000 that work in software for a company that does not sell software products.
The problem is that Q hires too many d-mb engineers who dont even know what grep is or how ls -lart works.

Analog CAD in SD lost 30% of its workforce in May. Analog CAD in Phoenix area lost 7 out of 8 in October. As a vendor employee, I understand your complaints and promise that I will work with the rest of Q CAD people to resolve any tools issues as much as possible. That's my mission.

The cad team is defunded. And out of business.

Closed ticket.

@1flh wishing layoff on your peer team makes you the lowest of the lowest sc-m. If the CAD team caters to the request of every schmuck they'd be out of business.

@1mzt+1pF0WxWg agree with earlier poster. World doesn't revolve around you or Q. There are hundreds of companies on this website. Look at the others that had more layoffs than Q. But once a Qwhiner always a Qwhiner no matter where else you move to!

A huge bunch of people just got laid off at Amazon. Hardly any gripes on this website. And here we have an id&%t who's complaining about a bug in some id_/#t tool
