Thread regarding Sears layoffs

No Kmarts are currently closing.

As title states, no Kmarts are closing now.
Why do people keep inventing fake closings? Will they close eventually? Probably so.
But that doesn't change the fact that they are NOT closing, as of now.
Also to the guy that keeps writing about "closing denial", what exactly is your point? You made about 97 posts, calling people in denial. I never deny a valid closing. I 100% agree that the stores on SB360's list are closing. I am merely stating that these Kmart stores are currently NOT closing. That is not denial. That is a statement of fact. When the Kmarts actually close, I'll be the first to write about it but only when it actually happens and I can provide links to prove it. As of now, there are zero liquidating Kmarts. I'm sorry, but that's just the truth, not "denial". I want Kmarts to be gone just as much as anyone else, but the reality is, that is not currently happening yet. Bridgehampton isn't closing, West Wood Kmart isn't closing, and Miami Kmart is also not closing, neither are the USVI/PR/Guam locations. Sorry, but they simply aren't yet. That is just a fact.

This will be counted as 7/10ths of a closing on the count.

I fully expect the Bridgehampton and Westwood Kmart stores to occupy their nearest vacant 7-Eleven location within a year.

Your Miami Kmart, shrunk to the size of the dumpster:

It'll be out of business within the year.

Kendale Lakes is moving to a tiny break off section of the store, roughly 30% of the size, whole the main original footprint is being leased to another vendor (At Home)

OP, you weren’t the first to post about the Puerto Rico closing.

The Kmart in Hato Rey (San Juan), Puerto Rico, appears to have gone straight from "open" to "closed" without passing through a "closing" phase at all.

@1nxx+1j789M4q Um, OP's point WAS precisely to call out unlinked closures, and I agree with him/her. Links or it didn't happen!

@4pxb+1j789M4q They are not closing. They are simply downsizing, as Post ID: @4coa+1j789M4q so nicely articulated, below.

A "Temp Remodel" job has been listed there for a few weeks now, at https://jobs.sears.com/us/en/job/1012111BR/Temp-Remodel-Team-Associate-Up-to-40hrs-wk-Miami

"The Temp Remodel Team Associate will assist the Store Team with moving, condensing and resetting the merchandise displays, fixtures and counters into a new layout, ensuring aisles are set to planogram, stocked and signed to company standards."

Sounds like the store is shrinking, perhaps to allow subleasing part of it to a new tenant.

LOL 70% off "construction blowout" at Kendale Lakes, but they're "not closing". Uh huh.

Probably stick whatever's left of the store in the broom closet and call it a day.

Its unfortunate that some people need to think they feel better about themselves by posting here in a control mode. Unfortunately for them, posts on TheLayoff exert ZERO control over others no matter what the content of their posts is. After they post, no improvement in low self image occurs. Therefore they continue to post over and over again.

If they claim you are in denial, just ignore them. If they claim they and TheLayoff REQUIRE proof via links, ignore them. Getting into any argument with them just fuels the bear. Ignore them and they realize you are onto them and what their problem is

Let me also add that Guam Kmart (and probably at least some of the USVI stores) will probably never close in our life Times, due to the monopolies that they have in those markets. So the best we can probably hope for, is to eventually at least get rid of the US mainland ones, but again, even that isn't happening yet, and probably won't even happen in 2022. So ya, as stated above, no Kmarts are currently closing, so all the 73 (or so) threads about any of them currently closing, are utterly meaningless.

Post a closing when it happens. Just pulling fake ones out of your bu-t, just for the sake of having "something" to post, is just wasting everyone's attention spans, & Time, for no good reason. When a full line store is on SB360's page, it is closing. When it isn't, then it isn't. Stop making up fake stuff.
