I finally quit.

Years wasted at this company and I'm glad to have finally cut ties.

I have never had to work around so much politics and drama in my life, simply for a GROCERY store.

It was amusing being in leadership and watching honest and hard-working people get written up and/or screwed over for promotions simply because they spoke up. Once I stepped down, that put me on store leadership's shitlist and I suddenly started getting written up for stupid reasons that the team favorites constantly got away with. There was a day when I dare questioned my corrective action and was yelled at. I reported it to Team Member Services and not only was my STL informed of everything I reported, but I was pulled aside and accused of attempting to start drama and fabricated everything, despite having witnesses. They never even bothered trying to speak to them. Give me a f---ing break, this is an underpaid retail job. I knew then that I wouldn't be at this company much longer.

What is this, high school? This company treats everyone like children yet is surprised when they struggle through high turnover rates and expect people to do 3x the amount of work of one person, while being given meager raises on their "job dialogs"

I know some people are stuck at Whole Foods for various reasons; however, I wish you the best of luck and encourage you to get out when the right opportunity arises.

I left last year as the denial and incompetence (and total inability to either make or stick by decisions) became unbearable. It was a big upheaval. Used my savings to make a big move to another state, staying with an older relative but you know what? The fog has cleared, I'm working part-time ELSEWHERE while finishing a certification program and have solid career options in front of me. It's great to be free of this mind-numbing, spirit-killing disaster of a company. Those who stayed, what you are dealing with is a core group of maybe 2500 incompetent assholes in corporate and regional all pointing fingers at each other and huffing and puffing about how brilliant and important they are. Their 15 minutes are just about over. Get out now. Life gets better...much better.

If you up and quit do you get a 100% of your PTO hours or just a percentage of them?

Good luck to you! Your general luck has already improved by leaving that toxic climate. I can't believe how much better I feel, after working there for 11 years. Left in september and will never look back! Holler sat me if you're ever in PA!

I've been there eight years, this corporation is a joke. I've never seen so much underhanded sh-t in my life. They treat people like garbage, ramp up the drama and sh-t talking, then blame helpless employees. I can't believe that they have gotten away with it for so long. I DID speak up several times when I was in leadership, that's why I decided to step down because nothing was changing. Maybe I should have elaborated on that part.

I decided to quit because not only did things continue not to change after I stepped down, but because I realized I shouldn't have to deal with being written up constantly and getting stressed out over working in a grocery store.

Maybe you shouldn't have found it "amusing" to see hardworking/honest team members get written up when you were in leadership. That's probably when you should have spoken up to change things instead of waiting till you were in the same boat. So not only did you screw yourself but you assisted in screwing over tons of other team members. I'm also in leadership and speak up for my team all the time. If I were to get written up I know it's because I didn't just speak up for myself it's because I spoke up for them as well. It's called having balls.

Sounds like the NA. But after discovering this website, it sounds like the entire company. It is more like a misfit club rather than the popular club.

Im just sticking around for the next round of layoffs..hopefully they wont target my long term butt(10+years) with gig book flexing ambiguous write ups

@FV9e3Eb-ckb This company is all about being popular and friends with the right people. It's sad how hard-working people are unable to move up or transfer out of the store because someone with a personal grudge over an incident six months ago gives you a bad word.

Blessings. Sounds like my store. And region for that matter. I know of a couple regional folks whose positions were eliminated and they were quietly given store leadership positions... weeks after an STL sweep. This is the culture they seem so proud of.
