Contractors are going to be VERY heavily impacted. Information will be coming directly from your agency next week.
Please note that Management (besides a handful of high-level direct reports) is intentionally being left in the dark as long as possible. They will not be finding out who is affected up until you do, and are not involved in this decision making process. Management was informed yesterday about the timeline and to keep quiet, as agency’s will be contacting their team members. In the meantime, no direction has been given to managers on exactly when and how their team members will be notified, nor have they been given resources on how to talk to those affected. It’s another flippant cruelty.
It’s cold comfort, but keep in mind this has absolutely nothing to do with performance, and contributions to the company are not being considered. It all comes down to cost savings. Those making these decisions do not know how these teams work, what they actually do, or how they interact with each other. It's like we’re chopping off every other finger and still expecting to hear the recital. It’s going to be a sh-t show come October.
