Thread regarding VMware layoffs

EUC transition employees

If you've been slated to go to EUC upon divesture and you're transition, good news! Hr is working on options, you can opt to decline, accept or stay on transition. If you're fte, you're stuck.

I'm unsure of the timeline of the announcement as well as the package but at least we have options.

"Who cares if the spin off crashes and burns. It’s a pay check while looking for something better."

From my perspective, working in EUC has always been just "a pay check" and nothing more. Obsolete VMW technology and a stagnant market with no growth are ongoing.

EUSEEYALATER is a disaster of 38xx people with a few hundred more to hire. Dis don’t make-a sense-a. There are lots many overlay positions in the dozens within EUSeeYaLater ‘helping’ the field while ‘getting paid’ on every deal. A WO special team, a special Horizon team, tons of SEs that shouldn’t be in their jobs and barely working. We just hired a new VP who is a buddy of Rob and he knew him from IBM. What a cluster %{**}+}+]%]!!!!! Why do we need another VP?

Announcement of final PE coming around mid to end of week of Feb 26 or Mar 4.

Whole deal should wrap up June-ish after that.

Depart this cluster guys and dolls

The EUC leader appears unaware of the daily erosion of customer trust. Their overly relaxed flight plan for embarking on a new journey needs to be accelerated. It is advisable to set sail and reorganize the structure by April at the latest. Otherwise the outlook will be even more challenging.

lol opt to decline!? Everyone I know with a transition offer for EUC has language in the doc saying if you get an offer you don’t qualify for severance. Decline at your own risk. Who cares if the spin off crashes and burns. It’s a pay check while looking for something better. PE is going to gut it for parts over the next couple of years anyway. Leveraged buyout is just code for making a company pay for its own demise

"EUC Leadership can't say anything without preapproval from our glorious leader."

That's an excuse I don't accept. Why? Because during my two years at VMware Shankar and Rob did nothing meaningful to convince me that they were worthy of leading EUC.

I've been disappointed by the vps and directors as well. Lack of comms, lackluster townhalls, really no direction or answers. The org is even more dysfunctional now.

This is great news. EUC need to clean its leadership starting with getting rid of the majority of Shankar directs. Over the last 2 years, EUC promoted a lot of people to Directors but some of those promotions were made in preperation for the acquisition not merit based. If this is true, I am taking the severance and 🏃‍♀️ without looking back.

I'm eager to leave EUC and Broadcom. Just give me a package and I'm happy to go.

FYI, I've been disappointed by the reactions of Shankar and Rob. My customers are all angry and have no intention of staying with VMware. Most of my peers in EUC sales are ready to move on. There's no hope with the current sales and marketing leadership in place.
