Some say its the worst place west of the Nile, others some kind of Mecca. Who is right?
From what I have seen it's a tribal, backwards atmosphere run almost exclusively by people that are from the right caste. There's no accountability for decisions and there's untold amounts being squandered and going out of the back door to who knows where.
The people I have met in positions of influence are deeply cynical, untrustworthy, on-edge, largely dim, lack moral courage and fiber, or any shred of integrity - I'm quite sure they would sell kidney to gain an advantage over a peer. They have no experience outside Aramco and do not hold a candle to their industry peers. The cultural in---t and internal rivalry does not befit any commercial organization I have ever seen, it's every man for himself, just like the way they drive on the roads...
