Any news on massive Dell layoffs this week?

This discussion is kind of only meaningful once a RIF is underway. No one in the know would truly divulge if there's a layoff on the horizon.
If you want to protect yourself, keep your skills current, watch the sales performance of your product(s), listen to the earnings announcements, and read between the lines when the figureheads speak. If you believe that our revenue declines are structural, and not seasonal or cyclincal, then there's going to be a layoff! This is what anyone should be doing regardless of whether a WFR is underway. Common sense kind of stuff.
this site rules! Fun people f!cking with other mo--ns.Let the good times role.
By the way i heard massive layoffs, but one at a time so nobody gets complacent
@4gjy+1n98a6tJ it's in EMEA online team.
Instead of insulting each othe does anyone have any genuine news or updates?
Based in EMEA and just concerned fo my job and hearing some rumours but seems to be just that so far.
I have heard July some weeks ago from a source who was pretty accurate on the last round.
We shall see.
July is a week and a half away.
I heard July today and expected more in September from a couple sources. I suppose it depends on attrition and other factors.
@4jus+1n98a6tJ Can I ask what area this was in?
Also EMEA based and would love that HR call.
The 15% may be cumulative YTD
So 15% in August? Doubt it, too big . Maybe 5%
I confirm that something is moving, yesterday an EMEA colleague announced that he must leave end of June. :-(
Also EMEA based and while.I havent heard numbers I have heard cuts are on the way.
I was told July but would expect August.
Staff are expecting it as far as I have heard.
The way cuts have been in the past few months who would feel positive in Dell?
Rumors going around that 15% of the work force are going to be laid off in H2 - I am EMEA based
Pull off the bandaid, let's get it over with
Anyone have any update on any layoff's this week?
The negativity In Dell is ki-ling me.
it is like New England weather, just wait and see..
Idk what to tell you man. This site is a mix of genuine information sharing, trolling, and whining. Very few people with real substantial information are going to cough it up for risk of identifying themselves.
There are layoffs in progress tied to August-ish. But that’s normal even in good years. Dell has had cuts almost every month since last fall, I’d expect the pruning to continue.
"there will be layoffs some day, some time, some place.
Dont know when how where but there will be at some point in time."
It’s not fake news, there’s definitely more layoffs in progress. Just unclear as to the exact scope and timing and target.
so I'm assuming this is all fake news then? This site is becoming useless.
My sisters cousins uncles grandfathers aunts baby daddy said that this coming week there will be drastic cuts everywhere but dont worry.....JC is going to hire anyone affected to make his tshirts he wears and sells during all hands calls
Nothing is odder to me on this site than these two types of people:
- Former Dell Employees who come here and talk about things they hate even though they are gone.
- Current Dell Employees who call people that come to a site about layoff rumors and troll people about asking about for layoff rumors. Or call someone sharing a rumor mean names.
The name of the site is literally the layoff.
Meanwhile stock is at 52 week high. Stock will double in 12 months if 10k more cuts are announced. Buy stock if you have concerns.
I also heard something similar internally. Sounded like there might have been conversations starting today for some.
My higher contact mentioned in passing that she accidentally peeked a confidential document. Apparently the document mentioned that there are 10,000 layoffs coming in the next week or so, it didn’t say which departments specifically, but did mention that the US and India will be hardest hit. Please keep this information to yourself. Likely the first announcement will happen on Monday
