Rumour has it more are due Friday ? Anybody know if that’s true ?
More layoffs expected in March … I think on that first Wednesday
Is it done now for a while or are there more planned for this year.?
Post ID: @6ekn+1qrywPGs based on my understanding your 60 days exit date will be on March 8, 2024. Talent Marketplace resources will walk you through the process.
For those of us notified on January 10… does anyone know what our last day will be after 60 days in the talent marketplace or what have you?
One very important thing most people forget is the cost of their health insurance.
When you are laid off you are allowed to pay your current health insurance rate until
your severance ends.
Then you are told you can go on Cobra for 18months to continue your health insurance with the company. The problem is you will no longer pay the discounted rate but the full health insurance rate.
I was paying $250.00 a month while receiving severance but once it expired I was told my new rate under Cobra would be $750.00 as a single person

The employee does not get to negotiate their severance package.
The company gives the employee from 1 to 2 weeks for ever year they been with the company.
Post ID: @4crh+1qrywPGs , I am just curious if the severance package is even negotiable assuming there is no wrongdoing by the employer.
Did your friend negotiated on her 9 month severance package? Or was it just based on the number of years she worked?
We all should be negotiating and working with an employment attorney before signing off on any severance package offer. In the meantime, I'm going to working my wage by quieting quitting.
I had a friend who was very lucky, she was told they were going to lay her off in 3 months.
She was able to land a job starting 1 week after she was laid off.
The lucky bonus was she got a 9 month severance package and was able to find a job quickly. This allowed her to bank her severance package.
If not part of the layoff, the best optiom is to quiet quit, but then, sometimes feels like everyone in the company has already done or is in deep depression.
Is there a way to volunteer in this round and get laid off?
I heard this round is kicking aroud 1500 people globally. 250 of those in IT.
Yup Jan 10.
Jan 10 100% confirmed.
I just was told this AM that I am laid off. I know we all react differently, but I'm, honestly, happy and relieved to go.
Will the Jan 10 layoffs be related in any way to the BlackRock layoffs also announced this week? And- where do you all see that Jan 10 is the date?
Well, in addition to canceling Ask Ron they also canceled the next State Street NEXT call for employees..... Hmmm ...
More to come every other month moving forward
HNY!
Can confirm Jan 10th.
Thanks for the correction. How could I forget about the H1B program.
Besides shipping our jobs overseas; the company wants to get rid of local workers with their current salaries and replace them with fresh new local hires with lower salaries.
I've noticed that ranges for all levels (vp, avp, officer, etc.) have been brought down in the job listings. In particular in Boston/Quincy, I recalled seeing jobs that once displayed higher ranges a year before now showing lower ranges with similar listings (job title, level, location, responsibilities, etc.)
State Street is now down to only 8,000 employees in North America. They clearly don’t want the drag of having to pay salary or benefits to anybody in a higher-cost location.
Yep, that’s what I hear, too.
Who is left to be laid off ?, I mean haven't they over the last 18 years laid off 80% of the
U.S staff ?
Haven't they replaced 80% of the U.S staff with H1B workers ?
Yet some how the thousands of Vice Presidents, Senior Vice Presidents , and MD's still have jobs.
Let's take bets here, my guess is it will hit on Jan 24th and this one is going to be a big round.
