That is, what resolved all your dilemmas whether to leave or stay a little longer?
I really need a job, I don't have any savings, but I will be forced to leave, maybe even take a worse offer, because I really can't stand the behavior of my manager anymore.

@4cca+1eUIuxfQ, guess.
What shop you in
You know I feel bad 😞 for anyone left, Don’t ever put yourself down We we’re all family at work. This guy comes along and ruined it! Remember sometimes you have to take 2 steps back to go 1 foot forward
The Altice way was my breaking point .
@kvd+1eUIuxfQ spread the wealth! lol
My breaking point was I have kids to take care of! I was tired and tired of threatening people and of layoffs! It was every day, I did 23 years and when you’re manager tells you that Altice cares nothing about you. I was done ! There is no future of any kind here and I knew I would have to retire some day so I searched and found a job with a pension and I don’t pay for medical

@ioh+1eUIuxfQ I stand by my initial comment. So many things factually wrong with what you’re saying. I know you felt wronged and in some ways you probably were but you’re laying blame in the wrong place.
The initial post was "what was your breaking point".
The union was my breaking point. To pay someone that literally did nothing for me after they came in, is what ruined it for me. We had meeting after meeting before we signed. Once we signed, it all went through the stewards that pretty much had no clue of what was happening either.( no offense to them) "We just found out the FTTH techs are not included in the layoffs, just union techs. The FTTH techs have to be in the shop for a certain amount of time before they are union. Wait, the FTTH techs became union as soon as they started to work in the shop. We're not sure what's going on with layoffs but the list is changing everyday. We know the company did not give us the proper notice per out agreement but we're trying to save jobs, who cares about a couple days?" "How did you get a vacation pick over me when I have more seniority? I don't know." How can someone look at that and say "the union has my back"
@spg+1eUIuxfQ you voted them in because you thought you deserved more and didn't know how to get it. It's comments like yours that PROVE you union guys don't know the meaning of brotherhood. You assume I left because I couldn't kiss up to management. I didn't have to. I did my job the right way. My metrics were were they belonged. Amazing how you feel because someone is doing well, they must be kissing managements rear.
You have to do what is best for you and your family. Whatever that is. If your union is doing great by you, GREAT! I am glad it is. Responding to the original poster, the lack of support and knowledge from the union is what was my breaking point.
To the id--t who thinks the union did this all,take a walk...Cablevision should have been union 40 yrs ago,you all listened to Mr.Dolan and Tony Lo,cause you where a bunch of spineless cowards...You get what you deserve....You will show up to work one day and be told the job is gone.
@tzy+1eUIuxfQ You left because kissing up to management was no longer an option for you.
My breaking point was when my depot went union. It pretty much went down the drain. Nobody knew what was going on, we had meetings until we voted them in etc. Then layoffs came and we heard the list changed everyday for no reason. We had FTTH come back to our depot during covid and at first they weren't union until a certain time and they were not being looked at for layoffs. Then we were told they were union as soon as they came back but were still not being looked at for layoff's. Then I thought back and said, how did someone with less seniority get a vacation pick over me.....oh that's right. He was a steward. When it was questioned, I never got an answer and never got my vacation....well, I left before that. I honestly loved my job. Say what you want but at the time, union ruined alot of people at my depot.
You working for ice-man?
