How are employees selected to be mapped?

Has anyone in upstream unconventionals been mapped? Everyone I have talked to are currently unmapped.
- Klrk discusses bad decisions by management. However, remember that due to the Decision Board process/methodology, no bad decisions are possible. Only good decisions are made, but sometimes... sometimes... the outcome is bad (Alaska... cough cough). The beauty is... zero accountability.
Take a good look at what’s going on here.
A majority of the mapped positions (45%) are upper level management, so they will retain the salaries and bonuses as is. They haven’t and won’t give up anything we all haven’t already given up.
In the meantime the unmapped positions will be ‘reviewed’ with the likely outcome being a lower JG, then ask everyone to compete. This will not be everyone doing their part for the health of the business.
They will fail to see the optics and struggle to lead.
Hypocrisy is alive and well.
I think Shell employees sometimes like to blame other employees and managers but the real problem here is the changing business environment. Shell and other oil and gas majors have made some of the highest annual revenues of any company in the last decade yet investors keep moving their money to other industries. I believe Energy only makes up 4% of the S&P 500 now in the US. At some point we need to realize oil and gas is no longer the product that the investor community want us to produce and sell. Coronavirus was a wake up call but many of us knew this to be true well before. Hopefully the change that is coming based on Ben's note is so transformational that it provides a more stable future. The transition will be hard for Houston but we also don't want to end up like Detroit and Cleveland.
The unconventionals business unit is going through their MOR now as a coincidence. They’ve been going through a 0 basing reorg for the better part of a year. It’s all for nothing though because they will reorg again probably this year.
To comment mentioning "Now we will see what the remaining managers are made of". I would really like upper management is what changes in UNC business. Although not expecting it. They're the ones who have consistently, 8+ years, delivered terrible results and blamed everything but themselves. Complexity, structure, etc. I have never seen any of them owning up to have taken a bad decision and trying to correct. There's always excuses, magical paper gains and management adjustments that offset the bad results.

I have already been told my position is not mapped. Therefore I get a head start on the MOR.

Nepotismo, performance and also need to meet HR criteria D&I, SG bell curve distribution etc
Managers decide the positions ("boxes") that need to live on in the new organization chart. Then they decide in their heads who they want to be in those positions even before the MOR process begins.
This is their chance to get rid of the dead weight.
Sounds like performance and salary group might be the criteria. High salary group and low performance being disadvantages. We’ll know Tuesday.
