Is anyone’s manager really a toxic person? It’s cause me a lot of anxiety and depression even though I have performed really well on my job and received consistently high praises from my partner teams.

The toxic work culture starts from the very top. Jeff Clarke is known to shout and hurdle verbal abuse in meetings. He even picked up a peripheral and smashed it against the wall to demonstrate the poor build quality (no surprise as Dell always goes for the cheapest third-tier suppliers).
I have seen Sr. Dir behave in a toxic manner. Imagine how small you have to feel on the inside to act like this
I have, not a manager but a" team leader" who tests my and other people's nerves. Always threatening people that he's going to come down on people when he has absolutely no power at all.
He's a damn clown and I often have to bite my tongue in team meetings when he starts his "I'm a badass routine". I had people like that in the Army too. They were cool until they got a leadership position and interpreted it as having power.
Thing is though is that toxic managers, and really toxic employees and environment, is the number one driver of other employees leaving. That's not good for companies in this tight labor market.

I have seen dell emc veterans shout at someone then tell boss that the other person shouted at them so that the team member knows who is incharge.
Very toxic workplace.
But obviously you have a reason to cover it up.. so I hope dell is filled with people like you.
Coz only unskilled people engage in these type of power play.

Agreed. A 1x1 with the manager gives me anxiety. And he monitors everything including my breathing pattern . If I hold my breath to speak a whole sentence and then let out my breath, he thinks it is indication that I am frustrated and therefore he needs to put me in more tense scenarios to control my "frustration".
Yeah likewise here too. In my case as well the relationship as gone to the point where a ping or call from him ruins my day. I am good at my job but hate to interact with my manager about the project.
Plus the recent su----e made me realize how valuable life is and should i be putting myself with this level of misery?
It got to the point where you have to record the 1:1 so as to have evidence later.
The person who started this thread must be in EMC space, I just want to say you “ you are not alone, many high performing candidates are undervalued in and bullied by EMC leaders. They hate Dell and they freely acknowledge it on teams call and are proud of it. So immature “

The person I am talking about didnt allow his employee to go for emergency surgery for cancer, while he was positioning him to be in wfr list by creating false evidence.

Blanket statements about a group of people? Not every military veteran has PTSD. There are many factors behind bad leaders other than their possible prior military service—and I thank them for their service.

Dell became a toxic environment : whatever you do, whatever you achieve, whatever you look for... it is never enough. Senior (legacy EMC) management is putting negative pressure on employees to force them to leave. Employee resigning costs less money that WFR. There is a life outside of Dell. Leave if you can, wait to be on the next WFR list if you are in for Years...

Checks my calendar to see what I'm doing
Checks every expense and then aligns that with my calander to see if I actually was with a partner
Constantly telling me ' I'll be promoted soon' and i have been hearing this since covid
Doesn't support from a career development perspective
But....
He just promoted a female who's been in the role for a year
She's not technically won any deal at all
She's always mingling with the leadership team
Wears ki--y and see-through outfits to get attention

Aren't the bosses/managers supposed to be inspiring for us to be able to bring our best selves to work? If they cant do that, then what is their role?
I feel like senior managment have caused a toxic feeling in the buisness.
Constant layoffs,more pressure from crazy targets and quarter on quarter re orgs.
Tools dont work and we have no plan to fix anything or long term plan or goal.
Dell is a toxic place to work currently.
I work in Dublin and the feeling is horrible in the office.
Boss created an environment of politics. People twisting things about events and coworker to make themselves look better. The boss isnt experienced . He is known to create false data to promote his friends and backstab merit based employees with fabricated evidence.
Team sees it and they copy.
Values and ethics completely missing.
This is in non technical team at the top most layers.
