Layoffs for 273 and building 66? Work is slow orders are way down in steam people being moved around. I’m saying about 80-100 will loose their jobs because of the jab and that will leave another 20-40 for layoffs. No vRips and no Seros this jab helped GE out a lot.

@3xzd+1dviALWw. NOPE, this was way before COVID, that excuse can’t be used for everything!!
Was that time away due to covid? In the ICU on a vent for a few weeks? Then months to recover? Not making excuses, just trying to understand where someone would get the info from. There have always been games played, everyone conplains until they themselves get a “deal”, then come election time, we re elect the same ones that make all those deal! Hypocrisy is of the highest level among 301 membership, at all levels!
@1ekn+1dviALWw Sorry a word was used that you had to look up, and then you took the definition literally, we'll try harder to use words and context you can understand.
Rather than help your fellow man you whiny babies won’t get the shot . Just quit and get gone . What pathetic cowards . You aren’t the smartest apples in the bin and GE is better off without you
a period of paid leave granted to a university teacher or other worker for study or travel, traditionally one year for every seven years worked. sabbatical Yeah Sure
@1oml+1dviALWw. Not if your family works at the hall, just look at the recent upgrade list. The person at the very top went on sabbatical from R&D with no repercussions...
If your off for 10 consecutive days with no excuse you terminate your employment
From what I understand, those who do not get the jab nor approval for any exemptions, will be put on unpaid medical leave. What that entails, I am not sure. I can only guess termination will follow shortly if the employee still refuses the shot(s).
If you refuse vaccine and get let you will not get unemployment. The state has already indicated that. However they might give you some sort vrip offer but won't be near as good as those given out earlier. This is a win win for GE by reducing workforce and costs that probably planned anyway.
Question asked, "My curiosity is, if released because of non vax ?
Will there be severance pay ?
I am confidant there will not be VRIP offered.
If someone is laid off there is usually severance, but no vax might be like getting fired ??"
Either you dont work at GE Schenectady or your a complete mo--n? Ge put out a letter last friday that explained, if you dont get a jab, or one of the exemption forms approved, you will be fired. Its actually that simple! Im not for the mandate at all, but like GE said back in September stupidly, they where gonna have legal look over the mandate to interpret what it meant. That turned out to be as stupid as any of the unions sitting on their as--s and waiting till last friday to pretend to be upset by the friday letter. Whether GE wants the mandate or not, its a federal government over reaching mandate that is pushing the job. GE has no choice but to follow or lose most of the actually money they have coming in from orders from the US Government. Its even more laughable to hear union members and worse yet, union leaders question how GE is a Federal Contractor. You have to be as stupid or as incompetent as the person asking the question here below. There was already a VRIP offered to Schenectady only. If ya get canned for no Jab, you can and will collect NYS UI but no extra supplement from GE. If only GE leadership could be honest with the workforce, and if only the Union's leaderships could also be honest and forthcoming with its dues paying members. Learn to read kids, or start following the adults that already can.
@izl+1dviALWw No matter how high your achievements at GE are you still get the boot out the door. So don’t sugar coat the fact that a nice size cut is in the works and the jab issue is helping the company get rid of the cry baby slackers here. Just look at the BA and the president everything they were handed. Living off of their father’s legacy trying to fulfill a broken dream.
@lkg+1dviALWw Most everyone in GE isn't that smart. The concept of bettering yourself and moving onward/upward isn't something they are capable of developing. They took the first step onto the stairway of success by landing a job at GE. The problem is that they are too stupid to realize that it's a stairway and not an escalator. They are still on that first step and expecting it to transport them to the top without any effort on their own.
Who cares? It's GE. I got what I needed out of that dump and left.
