Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

No shame in it…

I am able to retire in just a few short years. After being here for so long and seeing all the negative changes occur I’ve basically reached my limit and decided to look for other means of employment - actually any means of employment outside of “Corporate America”. I just want to spend the last few remaining years I have to work in a stress free environment away from the politics and toxicity TD is known for. Wish me luck in getting something soon!

I left my 15 year career at Teradata a year ago because of the toxicity created by NH and WW in GTM. The two of them made it a miserable place for anyone to work unless you were too incompetent to know better. I do not miss the bs and am making $30k more than I was at Teradata. I wish the OP success and less stress as the grass is definitely greener on the other side of Toxidata.

@3xnd+1adMK08D - that's a tough but unfortunately true way to say it. It's not the employee's fault that their manager & company wouldn't move forward with technology and held the employee back. In the end, Teradata continued to be rich and the employee lost a lot of value in their skillset.

Best to retire. With your antiquated skills you might be better off teaching 70's mainframe coding at a retirement home.

I'm pretty sure the two negative Nancy's on here are from Digital Marketing ...nice work M.e., you have REAL WINNERS left on your team. To the OP - Good for you! Just because TD has cornered the market on toxicity and stress, there are A LOT of companies out there who treat their employees with respect & dignity. It won't be hard to find! Good luck in your next steps in life!

"What color vest?" Orange is already locked down by the penitentiary and TD, and ultimately leads to a straight jacket. Do better ELT interns.

In reality, the only stress free job devoid of politics would be working a fast food register. With responsibility comes stress and politics along with a decent pay check. Then again, working for the federal government could be an option. You'd have to become adept at being unable to find your arse with either hand.
