Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Leave before its too late

I would recommend everyone be part of the brain drain as opposed to waiting until you’re bumped off the Jane Train.

Re @3wpo+1s7WF1Mi. I'm jealous about the severance too. It would have been nice!

It's not I don't wish to move, the market now is so hard to even secure an interview

Severance is just an add-on, but leveraging time to prepare is crucial for a tough job market. Some people view interviews as just references, but this is not always the case.

Currently, most time is spent on office travel, meetings, and family, leading to low productivity. While waiting for Severance, focus on rejecting unnecessary hours and doing homework to prepare for interviews.

I’m trying to pay off my mortgage. If there’s anything that I can get out of this horrible experience before they dump me off the train, let it be that I paid my house. I’m quite close I think I could do it if they let me at least the full year.

I'm retiring. Not as good as the severance but why wait around? I predict they will cut the severance for the next rounds anyway.

Post ID: @OP+1s7WF1Mi I disagree. Stay until they throw you out. That’s what I did I got laid off last year. got a years severance plus all unused vacation days for the year as well as unused holidays for the year since I’m considered a retiree. I worked as little as possible the last year as writing was on the wall. My manager and I were not on good terms the last year. I was sc--wed out of a promotion and was basically told I will never get one as long as I was in this position She told me that I always have other options. I told her I’m not going anywhere and she could lay me off and I would love it. Needless to say we didn’t have too much communication the last year.

I was a great employee I always got top marks every single year the only time I didn’t was my last year I got threes.

Bottom line unless you have a new job. Stay there and make them pay.

Stay here till you get laidoff.
Market is not good. Do the minimum. Prepare yourself for interviews. Get your Severance. Then quit.

As soon as I heard they were laying people off I started to look for a new job outside of Citi. Not even two weeks after the announcement last year I got laid off. Its now April and I still haven’t found a job. Its mayhem out here folks!
