Thread regarding NXP layoffs

Where in the US?

People keep mentioning that layoffs are not only happening in Europe, but I haven't heard anything about cuts here so far. Can somebody share what's being hit?

@3sk NXP does not consider productivity, only cost. US will continue to be reduced to keep product margins in tact.

@398 define high cost employee in terms of productivity. European offices are filled with deadweight that can't be let go due to strict labor laws.
But this is a problem that every transatlantic company faces. Not just NXP.

NXP moving operations to the US is laughable. They want as few high cost employees as possible. Margin optimization is the name of the game as they are not innovating with their current management team.

@32s what??? Most of the layoffs occurred in US. Now you're telling us that they're moving to Arizona, which is in US???

the re----k management wants to get rid of european offices and move all to az. so gradually but surly cutting anybody other than az/us.
