Thread regarding CDK Global Inc. layoffs

Cutting costs is a great way to run company to the ground

This isn’t the first time just this year that a big company had a major security breach. Maybe cutting costs at every corner, offshoring, and generally badly managing a company that’s too big to begin with is not exactly the smartest strategy. But god forbid one would invest in security infrastructure and pay well people who know how to do the job. Can’t wait to hear the cost of this debacle.

What are the employees saying about BMac’s leadership in this crisis?

Very plausible. B-Mac talked Brookfield into re-instating him as CEO after he was fired the first time by the board. CDK was kissing butt throwing all products at dealers to keep 3-year renewals under Brian Krzanich, then sold off to hedge funding Brookfield and Assoc.

@3rue+1t943vsI - you are dead on about Leggett. He was both CIO and CISO if I recall, and his arrogance was legendary.

I'm willing to bet he doesn't feel so smug right now.

Further, I bet that Brian McD will totally throw him into a volcano as sacrifice, and you can bet this is going happen the same week CDK crawls back online.

The CIO is the one to blame here, he had plenty of great suggestions made and yet chooses to ignore those who he feels are smarter than him due to his own arrogance.

Another sad story of what happens when the "bean counters" run rough shod over the technical professionals in IT and Engineering. Boeing is now making planes they can't keep in the air & space capsules that strand astronauts. AT&T squandered billions on failed acquisitions and has recently had numerous outages and security breaches, and now CDK blows up the IT infrastructure of 15,000+ dealerships. Layer on top of that the 2008 travesty of under capitalized banks and junk mortgages and the supply chain issues that exacerbated the COVID pandemic. Where are the feds who should be regulating these miscreants? Oh, I remember, they are kissing the butts of the 1%ers who have bought and paid them. God help us all!

Bet Brookfield sacrifices the CEO, CIO, CISO, and then sells the company off one piece at a time.
