Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

What will Oxy report next week?

I wonder if the mountain of debt will finally decrease.

You should get out more and mingle with all kinds of people since you have a deep need for bonding with others instead of practicing satanic rituals with your crystal ball. Your not even good at that because it's lying to you.

With that attitude you will have a miserable career and a horrible life. That is what my crystal ball says.

"Bonding with your coworkers?" Seriously?

I'm just here for the ducats, but feel free to "bond" on my behalf. Just don't let HR find out.

You sound quite young. You will change your tune on bonding with your coworkers as you get older. Hopefully this anti-social selfish behavior is not a trend. If it is society is in trouble.

So true about the disgusting restrooms and there is mold growing on and coming out of several of the building's ac vents.

We are not working on objects like in a factory. Teams meetings are so large now that a physical meeting room is not even large enough to hold everyone. If you need more social interactions get out more and meet all kinds of people it's not hard to do. Work is about getting the job done and improving the bottom line not being physically social and having everyone validate your insecurities. If it's about being physically social with coworkers then we should have one entire day in the office a week to just walk around and only socialize with everyone then we can all go home and plug in to get work done the rest of the week. Yeah that last sentence is silly but you would get your physical social interaction with your coworkers. I would rather get work done with most of my time and meet via teams when needed because it's much more productive and efficient.

You are missing the point that the office is a true social environment with your coworkers. If you don’t want that environment for three days a week then go away. We don’t need you as part of this organization no matter how great you think you are.

A clean toilet and restroom environment is not necessary to you!!? What kind of house do you live in? Don't answer that I never want to find out.
@3tnw+1fn9d10T has pointed out what we all dread and why WFH is very important to all of us but you. An office will never be on the same level of the quality of our own homes to those of us who value clean, healthy and safe environments.

Yes, people find a way of convincing themselves that what they want so badly is simply logical and necessary. It’s difficult to persuade them otherwise once they are committed to that idea.

Sounds like the last poster needs to be run through a boot camp of some sort.

It does feel like once this mountain of debt is paid off then there could just as easily be a new mountain of debt created which would be another great excuse to further delay any raises and bonuses. Oh if there was a way to make a bargain to keep people interested in staying at Oxy and have them fresh and utilizingall their energy on Oxy work? But wait there is and we have been doing it for two years now. Full time work from home which will also save the company lots of money by not having to rent huge office spaces that most of us do not need to visit to get all of our work completed better than in a very distracting filled with noise office environment while also already exhausted from the lengthy process that a daily commute entails. Dying of monotonous lunches because spontaneously deciding from our own kitchens at lunch time what to eat and having more options on how to prepare food creates a healthier happier person. Use our of our own toilets provides peace of mind instead of cring worthy disgusting health and safety issues with the public restrooms that are not well maintained need better exhaust air filters and badly need to be renovated.

The company always lucks out due to oil prices. Elk hills, Altura acquisition, and now APC. Nice job. Keep up the good work.
