Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving I'm grateful that I quit Q and got another job. My stress is gone, my happiness is high. What a nightmare that place was. For anyone thinking of a switch, do it. It won't be easy, interviewing is hard, and it takes time and patience, but the end result is worth it. You won't believe how nice people are on the outside, I'd almost forgotten that. Go for a smaller company, not another corporate prison. Don't chase money and brand names, chase a good environment and happiness. Good luck to all.

I was also let go in the last RIF. Dec 13th is my last day as well. I was working on 2 key projects as well. I asked what I did wrong and was told "you did nothing wrong. It's about money and projects." Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed working there. Great people, great benefits and interesting projects... no regrets. Hope everyone on this thread has a safe and enjoyable holiday season. Cheers!

I have the exact same feeling. If you are happy in Qualcomm, good for you, but if you are unhappy, get out asap. You can do it and outside of Qualcomm is far less stressfull and much better to improve your skills.

@3rhb+1pJGy65h hopefully you are given the offer to be hired back at Q when things improve should you choose. You seem to be a better fit for Q than a lot of clowns who post here.

Why do you leave Q?

I worked 15 years with Qualcomm had to be forced out, kicking and screaming.
It was stressful, at times difficult, and very demanding. And I loved every minute. I loved the challenge, the opportunities, and above all else, my coworkers. I absolutely enjoyed going in everyday to work with some of the best people a person could want to meet.

December 13th will be my official last day with Qualcomm, and I am absolutely gutted. My plans for the future will ensure I continue to be happy, and as would anyone, I pray for success. But I do not regret a single day I spent with Qualcomm, not one.

OP here. I posted on this board because I was thinking of the year in review, and Q was part of it (and many years prior). I've worked for several companies before, and will likely for a few comanies afterwards. Yes, there is good and bad everywhere, but never was the bad as bad as it was at Q. I don't blame the hard working engineers. I blame the managers that scr3w with the engineers with their immoral behavior. I think it IS "grown up" to reflect and analyze. I think it's childish to bash any opinion that differs from yours.

You posted on qc board after leaving the company shows your mindset. You can find good or stressful teams In any corporate company. First, grow up.
