I would love to work at Macy's.....I have a problem with promoting credit. I do not believe in this, gets people in trouble. Can I be a sales person without having to sell credit?

Not that hard to follow. You are paid to do a job. Part of that job is selling credit. Come to work. punch in. Do your JOB. Punch out. Go home. Get paid. Grow the f up people.
@3qes. Huh?
Do your dang job and shut up. God you people are so self righteous. Who the heck asked you what your personal options are? So if you don’t believe in pushing credit would you Refuse all credit card transactions? Grow up.
I have a friend in the credit card industry and he told me that Macy's, like all retailers, gets paid a specified dollar amount for each credit card opened. When I was with Sears, Sears was paid $16.20 for every credit card opened. I know we get paid at Macy's too but I'm not sure of the amount.
Try to convince them to get 20% off if approved but pay 33% interest afterward lol

Okay now I KNOW you are full of the poopoo.
Thank you for your input......I guess I will have to apply elsewhere. Macy's is my number one choice, if it was not for credit. I love the look of the store and seems like a nice environment.
Opening credit is a job requirement to work as a salesperson at Macy’s. If you don’t perform, trust me, the Sales Managers will never leave you alone. If you’re open to coaching and training and put in the effort to learn, they’ll help you but it will get to the point that if you continue to not do it, you’ll get written up or terminated if you don’t open credit. Credit drives profit for the company and people who have Macys credit cards buy more and are more loyal. It doesn’t matter what our personal beliefs on debt are.
