Very helpful. Not everyone who resides in U.K. work under their umbrella. Me and team are far away from doing anything with cisco products. We are central function in CX services game and usually transforming customer practices in a certain domain.

Am surprised too for you to think anyone who works in U.K. works for product sales only. Maybe we need to fit you with a AI chip :-p

If you don't know who CP and DM are then either you don't work in the UKI or were frozen with the Mammoths and have just thawed and defrosted up. Either way, better learn quickly who they are if you don't wish to face the gallows.

That’s because Americans are more entitled, but also definitely more F’ed when unemployed than Europeans are.

There is a worrying amount of people with OOO on no return date
Some good people and high achievers have been hit
Logic seems to not exist in these decisions

All the best to everyone. You are bigger than the DM and CP sh!tshow of “Best place to work”.

You are far bigger than their toxic politics that is threatening to destroy our careers.

We will prevail. Stiff upper lips - don’t give them the cause to sn----r and mock behind your back. They cannot take our dignity away. God bless.

I'd like to know too. It'd be nice to know that redundancies will get an email tomorrow so I don't have to worry about an ambush when I'm back (or am at least put out of my misery early).

How does it work if you're on PTO tomorrow and your manager was aware well in advance?
If I get got will that happen on my first day back?

CP destroyed a thriving SE ecosystem in the UKI with tribal management and poisonous politics pushing people out solely based on his personal agenda. DM allowed that to happen . Often wonder why and how do these sort of people, of which Cisco management level is supersaturated with, escape the chop and not us, lowly individual contributors?

I’m not sure HR/CP is legally allowed to send meeting invites tonight/Sunday as that would be seen, in the eyes of the employer law, as grossly unreasonable. I guess if you’re getting hit you’ll be getting an email at 8am… if you do get one before 8am tomorrow/monday then bring it up with the solicitor you need to assign….

Going back to the point of the original post - not received anything suspicious in my calendar for Monday, so no. I'm assuming things may be scheduled tomorrow evening for the following morning...

Therein lies the fun at Cisco - everyone don’t automatically get a raise or RSUs every year - so it’s impossible to tell from that whether you are affected or not.

No arguments that CP is duplicitous in character and has no leadership quality. He is very good at relentless self promotion though.
That he lacks tact was made immediately obvious with his “constant change” in “summer” post on LinkedIn the very same day hundreds were laid off in the U.K. last April as part of the Feb 2024 LR party. The man has no shame. Archetypal to many Cisco “leaders “, his addiction to glorify himself on social media is epic.
And yes, let’s be united and support each other during these dark days. There will several such in coming quarters.

All the best.

I'm not at Bedfont Lakes and I don't know if different areas of Cisco have different schedules, but my rewards cycle stuff happens October/November each year. Is it the same there? If so then don't you effectively already know who's going if you weren't told about a raise?

@1guw+1vhwuhT7 he didn't speak poorly about his religion. He is speaking factually about CP's lack of tact at such a delicate time, when as leaders you should set a better example.
Let's not mask his mediocrity and weak leadership with profile politics please.
A side note it seems this post was made with the intention to bring people together and instead the discourse is toxic, and one wonders with Cisco in UKI is in a sorry state .

Please come together and support your colleagues in the tough times which we know are coming, and the harder ones which are yet to be announced.

@1dzq+1vhwuhT7 What a l-wlife thing to bring up here about the mans religion. People like YOU are the issue. You are either still immature and going through puberty or are a has-been from a bygone era who should be fired. You appear to have a grudge so grow a pair, move on. Whatever it is the rest of us working hard will be better without you at the company.

Have not had too much stress getting justifiable travel approved . But yes, would be easier if I did not have justify a tube day card with as many words.

Have never dealt directly much with DM. But agree that CP gives sociopathic vibes. He has an easy going “I am one of the guys” manners but doesn’t take a lot to get on the wrong side of him. Very reptilian demeanour and hard to gauge what gives him offence. He appears to be well liked among the Indian community at Cisco though. I am glad I am out of his clutches. Used to give me the chills.

If that 20% number is true then BDLK will be empty - what’ll they do with all that space?

Same here as the last post. If I can justify the travel I don't hesitate to go, to he-l with the policy. If they're going to get rid of me they're going to do it whether I spent £100 on a train ticket or petrol or whatever, or not. Why TF should I save them any money when my own reputation and relationships are on the line. And possibly keeping my contacts happy who in turn can give me a job when I get told "Thanks for all the years now eff off".

Final point, if you're not spending the money, and especially if you're in Sales: 1. You can be considered expendable 2. SOMEONE else will be spending it for sure.

Load of rubbish. I have had no issues with expenses for seeing customers or anything else for that matter. Why spread lies for no reason????? Get yourself checked out or get out for your own sanity.

I saw that post on LinkedIn from CP too. And the pretentious Diwali post, a$$ lickers liking the posts. Wanted to pu-e. The two faced nature of this is so revolting. Knows he is taking the livelihoods away from hundreds in a couple of days time and there he is, wishing everyone a prosperous year ahead.

CP and DM make a mess? Surely not! They are God like. Untouchables. They normalised the culture of gaslighting, bullying and outright lying and wrecked the UK theatre. Pushed out so many talented, dedicated, loyal people just to satisfy their own ego . And business took a nosedive.

Just saw CP posted a photo of himself and Eric Schmidt on LinkedIn at some fancy conference while us SEs are pulled back from travelling to in-person customer meetings. That’s all these useless management people do. Take advantage of their position to promote themselves while generating business takes a back seat. Toxic.
