I am now retired from Baker. We used to have the best drill bits, our auto track was the best RTS in the market. Our downhole tools (pack, liner hangers etc.) were far superior to an anyone. Our drilling fluids were weak, but still sustainable.
Now, nothing. I cannot think of anything Baker is good at.
You are right about the field and wrong about bakers leadership. The board might be old boomer white guys but from the floor upto them is filled with incompetent diversity hires. Not all but several and they’re largely women as non white males are still.. men and that’s the problem according to this new policy of women in leadership.
@yia Last time I checked, almost everybody running BH was white and male. You can verify this by Googling “Baker Hughes” and clicking company>about us>leadership team.
The industry is in decline because of market forces and decades of poor, short-sighted business decisions, not because two out of fifteen executives aren’t white and/or male. Stop whining about diversity. Nobody cares about your fragility.

Great @ DIVERSITY: especially @ promoting the totally incompetent ones until the Peter Principle kicks in.
Then we move them up 1 more notch higher into senior/executive leadership roles🙄

Excellent at making BS PowerPoints. Now if we could only figure out how to market that skillset and make money...........all our problems go away. Oops, not really, because the a$_kissers would still continue to bring us down

Well, what can you say. Losing all your work, losing all your jobs and closing your offices down are not good for anyone. But that’s what we have.
This is a company that promotes stupidity.
