The real qsn is why there are so few employment/employee rights in the us empire? why are us employees/us persons so fungible? Replaceable with low wage foreigners...because of capitalism–the lust for endless expansion and profiteering. Vile.

Layoffs are gaunteed here. Can we really compete cost wise with the phillipines? 90% of the IT helpesk is there and they don't care if the "techs" are c-ap IT people. "Oh look they messed up again. Meh "retrain them" and get them back on the phones now!"
Their plan is to cut out all state side IT people it seem.... Bare bones of US techs but heck hire some more phillipines techs and oh yes you state side people TRAIN THEM UP TO DO YOUR JOB!!! OH except for the executives tech support.... Can't cut them. Got check out technology family in the jobs board..... Most are offshore.... Bs all round... Ok I'm done

That's the truth. Your employee job is only good as long as your boss stays. If they leave, you're basically SOL. And the replacement is usually an SOB that tows the company line and is a yes man to the vile corporation

They will be actively looking for areas to cut during January and likely to be notified first or second week February for those gone. Some will get RRP on the way out and some will not. Not sure of the scale but wouldn't surprise me if it is similar to what occurred last year.

The quote below is true. If you find the right boss. But what happened to me is that my boss left and they got SOB to replace him. So you only last as long as your boss.

And now they are getting rid of all the soft bosses. Hiring only SOB folks. Whippers.

It’s really about being well liked by your manager and others and not productivity. I’ve posted here before and not trying to rub it in but have been employed with UHG and only required to get one audit report out per year. Excellent reviews and bonuses. Not sure if I’m just lucky or very well liked by many. Even the CCO jokes with me about how little I work or before work from home how little I was in the office. No worries from me about being laid off. Never going to happen. Got to get that personality going.

As someone who had been laid off at UHG twice in 15 years I would provide this advice. Treat every day at UHG as if it will be your last day. Prepare yourself not only mentally for this possible outcome, but also use this mindset to prepare financially and to update your resume and LinkedIn profile. Plan to take some time for yourself after you are laid off, clear your mind of all of the negative energy and be ready to emerge more powerful and confident than before. Good luck!

As long as we work there, there will always be lay offs of hard working employees. Sickening-Their zeal for endless profit and unfettered capitalism. They make money off of the sick and infirm . Psychopaths

yes, massive in 1st qtr to offset Covid costs. Planning meetings been working day and night for this wave.

If you want some comfort, this is happening to all plans. As one plan cuts, the other plan needs to be just as lean. Lowest payroll cost wins. But you lose.
