Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Notices coming out 5/27 -5/29, last day on 7/31

Boeing conveniently buried this information in a Boeing News Now article, but starting May 1, managers will be assessments and notices will go out May 27 to May 29, with the notice date being June 1. Last day on payroll will be July 31st.

Welcome to the last day to take the VLO.

Make sure you read the post below before you choose to wait for the ILO. It's good information to make an informed decision.

You have only hours left.

For all of you thinking you will make $$$ on unemployment, Boeing is smarter than you. Slimey, but smarter.

The extra $600 a month from Congress ends at the end of July. With this first round of layoffs, you last day will be on July 31. So, guess what?

None of you were smart enough to see it. Maybe you bad mouth Boeing because you hate they outsmart you at every turn. On layoffs, on contracts, on unemployment, and you can't handle it.

If you take the VLO you get the extra $600 for 8 weeks since you leave June 5. But now, it's the weekend and you only have till May 4 to apply. But you lose call back rights.

Take VLO get more UI, lose callback rights
Wait for ILO, get less UI, keep call back rights.

Where was union leadership to explain this to you, crickets...

Haha you’re funny, kind of. I guess you have me all figured out huh?
To answer your questions , or accusations more like it: no I’m not entitled. 24 yrs w/the Co. & I’m grateful for what I’ve been able to accomplish in those years. I’ve learned a lot, earned a good deal too. I save my $$ for the future & don’t have any worries about paying my bills, other than the regular ones we all have to pay. But I own everything, & that’s because I didn’t choose to live beyond my means. Sounds like you’re hot under the collar because you have some personal problems that are maybe being exacerbated by the situation at work. I have a beautiful wife & 3 lovely children, 2 sons & a daughter. They are all doing well. No child support, I’m married to the only woman I’ll ever be married to. Boy, you’re so far off the mark it isn’t even funny, come to think of it. I quit working OT years ago because I decided being there for my kids was more important. I make good $$ as is. So, you’re all I fired up because I stood up for someone who pointed out something legit, & he in turn got bombarded & lambasted because he just mentioned something that was true.
How come you’re so hostile? You make assumptions & accusations & you don’t even know what the hell you’re talking about. Go scream at your old lady, you seem like the type. But then, I don’t know YOU, do I?

Ah. So you’re one of those guys who sits around collecting a paycheck. Reached a point in your life where you realize you could have been so much more — had you been blessed with a brain. I wipe with your paycheck and live to see entitled folks like you act like you have it all together when the reality is so, so different. What’s that? You hear the drums? No more overtime? Mortgage due? Car payments due? Child support from your first two failed marriages, perhaps? Or maybe you don’t have kids — maybe life is all about YOU. And, we’ll, there’s that whole SPS thing. Look on the bright d-bag, there’s always your parents’ basement.

Oh I’ll be fine cupcake 😉 No worries here, perhaps you need to worry? I was just sticking up for someone who pointed out a FACT & everyone, like you, got all riled up. I’ve been here a long time, I know what this company’s all about. I survive in the real world too. Will do just fine when I’m done at Boeing, will you? Hmmm, angry you may be getting the axe? So sad cupcake,

Ooooooh, A—hole. Can’t you just feel the anger? Swearing in your post — wow, that helps clarify things. It’s apparent you are suffering from SPS [Small Pe–sSyndrome]. Truth is, life is tuff all over cupcake. Time to grow up and face the reality — the reality that “you” really don’t matter. You are insignificant. The world, and Boeing, will ultimately go on very well without you.

Actually, A–hole/S , it WAS buried. Actual dates as quoted by the OP were NOT in any Co. e-mail.....it was in a Boeing News Now article, as he stated. How many of you saw it in your e-mail? I didn't.Dates were not mentioned in Calhoun's e-mail, or in Deal's. So why pick on the guy for pointing something out?

Can’t believe the audacity of this employee. Cites text from an email delivered directly to his/her/it’s/shim’s inbox and says the information was buried. Really? Really, really? Let the pity-party begin.

So sorry to hear the company did not send you a certified letter on company letterhead. What else has fallen short of your expectations? Lemme guess. No bathroom attendant? No valet parking? No golden parachute? Get a life already.

Anyone coming here for breaking news is probably the slowest animal in the pack and targeted for elimination already. But hey, thanks for the hot tip!

What’s your point? You knew it was coming. Fortunately, you know how to read. This probably slipped by the average employee.
