Thread regarding National Oilwell Varco Inc. layoffs

Is it finally over?

It's Friday and I don't remember us ever having layoffs on a Friday before. Of course, considering the situation, I wouldn't be surprised if everything we know from before no longer applies.

Is there any way to find out if everybody they were planning to lay off has already been laid off?

Probably waiting until after they announce they are taking away severance packages. Coming in May.

I've been watching this site for the last few weeks. All I observed was massive layoff was coming 'this week', 'next week', 'this Tuesday', 'this Friday', etc. The largest layoff this Friday and next week that you mentioned, is it from any credible insiders or just based on your past experience at NOV?

This Friday and next week will be the largest layoffs. They like to lay people off early in the month so they have medical insurance till the end of that month. As a former director, I know. They get the list on names together, submit it to local HR, they send it to corporate for approval then back to the managers for execution. If you get cut look at it as an opportunity to leave a toxic company. There is life and a good one after NOV. I know, I’ve never been happier.

Last year (2019), it took more than a month.
And it happened twice within one year in my facility.
