The team which started it all….. Heartbreaking.
So much knowledge just gone like that. Dedicated, hard working people who have been there from the start of SAP in Ireland

That's just pr stuff they feed us so we won't fight for our jobs and our rights as employees.

There are no jobs in AI in SAP. The "reskilling" is bad SAP courses on how to write a good prompt for chatgpt. This is not a viable path to a new job.

Current layoffs make no sense in many cases. Something is wrong , A lot of top talent is moving out of SAP. Not clear be on what was the process.
Great opportunity for SAP partners.

No safety. Process will go into Q1 2025. This wave is only hitting 75% of the 8000 target.

SO if its been 3 days since Monday's email, are we in the safe zone for now? How long are we supposed to wait to know if we have jobs? ... Not very motivating to continue working normally.

really...
Internal Reskilling Initiatives: The company committed to reskilling affected workers for new roles within SAP, particularly those focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) development — a strategic area of growth for SAP.

I am the only person supporting 150 developers developing the product in developing demos and support across globe presales. Unfortunately this is partner product and management (SAP) wants to support at some level and not at other level (Internally at My management level) lead to layoff. Not sure whether it is right or wrong. I struggled with SAP all my years. When I was in consulting looking for architect role, they asked me to do ITSL, TOGAF. Did never got role. I did CMA, CPA . With my experience in Financial planning and reporting , I could not find any licensed CPA to vet my experience in SAP. I worked part time with another CPA in Texas voluntarily to get my license. I know that I may be impacted at certain point, but handlocked in my role as no one is willing to take my position to move on . Also I could not age any internal position or fellow ship to do for last two years. I worked in almost all SAP planning solutions dated back SAP SEM to till the SAC Planning. I am certified CMA,CPA, ITIL,TOGAF, PMP with only one promotion in my 18 year service with SAP . This is the pain and bad experience I have with SAP. Also I saw lot of radical changes that happened since 2015 and our Manager with full empowerment can take what every the decision on you

I was laid off March 2023. The number of weeks severance was based on Level (I was T4) and tenure. SAP gave money to cover COBRA (health insurance for US) for all of 2023. I recommend that if you need health insurance for therapy and other specialized care, you should use the money to continue COBRA. Marketplace private health insurance is really bad - expensive and minimal coverage.

The company had so much profit last year they are just making the senior people with many years of experience redundant. Company loyalty is bo-m in the air .Sap is the same as other corporate capitalist countries.
If the leads took a cut in paycheck they can alteast train the c4c team

Country - Ireland
Area /Unit - IBSO Build team
No of people - 12

IBSO Build team in Ireland were informed they are "at risk of redundancy" (read: redundant). This includes the build team manager. Some members may be hired to the IBSO Run team if they are successful applicants to internal roles, but the Build team is gone.

I just wish I could be on the call when they tell Nestlé and some other big customers that the team handling all of their C4C solutions is all gone. Those projects would take a year to handover properly, and they still ask for more active development and changes almost daily, which will now be halted without warning.

They're a board level client so get everything escalated, but the board doesn't understand the level of complexity on their custom C4C projects. If they did, there's no way this team would be made redundant without having done the prep for these solutions being handed to outsourced contractors beforehand.

How is the “robust separation package” different from last year?

Are all NA/Canada announcement going out today, or is it over the next 3 days? Even this isn’t made clear.

Zero empathy in the communication.

@gyl+1s3swiqD With this new announcement of layoffs extending into Q1 2025 plus the RTO mandate effective May 1st it seems that’s exactly what they want you and others to do. It’s so obvious they want more people to quit voluntarily. The others? Well, they will be put in line with fear. Really sad what this company has come to.

@czf+1s3swiqD This is the number for all the main units in the UK including Concur. I'm not sure what other LoBs you are referring to as we only have the ECF for The SAP UK ltd and then Concur UK

We just heard in Spain the number will be "well over" the minimum for mass layoffs (29 employees). Don't know the number for sure, but I'm guessing 100-150 people, out of ~1000.

That email from Christian is disgusting. Regardless if I’m laid off or not I’m leaving SAP. We’ve been waiting 3 months and we could be waiting another 9 to know if we have jobs. This whole thing has been handled so badly.

Fu-k you CK
