JHAH medical is a joke. Some Drs and nurses are good, but overall it's 3rd world at best.

Anymore 14 is a great GC, provided your are US or Global. Drilling is its own kingdom so if you should be fine. You will never see a 15 as the Saudis are really insecure about that kind of thing. Good Luck!

Salary Code 14 is very good. It is part of the band of professional jobs SC 11-14. Actually difficult to get hired in SC 15. What payroll are u offered? If Global or US it’s fine. Aramco is a great company. Take it from me. Many happy years there as a European. Best of luck in your application.

Everything said here about GC 14 is correct. Think seriously if you are leaving a secure position for one with Aramco. This is a really flaky company. Nothing is predictable. Management is disaster. If you unemployed and need the cash, there is no risk.

In addition to salary, GC 14 will restrict you from some benefits of camp life. GC 15 has far fewer limitations.

Most offers go out in June or July. If you get an offer in August, chances are that others have turned it down. Go for GC 15 unless you are desperate for a job and have no other prospects.

Yep he is right, 'some' departments seem to have that unofficial policy. Many unofficial policies in that place. Probably more being enacted every year. I knew a guy that hired on in 2002 as a 14 and retired in 2019 as a 14. Despite lots of effort on his part to get the promotion. Luck of the draw for sure.

Get GC15 before you arrive. Some departments or managers have a policy (unofficial) of no expats from 14 to 15....

Aim for GC15 you must! One chance you have!

GC 14 it's a salary band, if you are close to the top will be really difficult to get promotion to GC 15. Saying this DTD is a tough place. Try it and good Luck. A lot of previous layoffs came from this department and no so many expats left, those they want it to protect were moved to Expect ARC. Good part is you will placed in Dhahran. I know some local young engineers that you can help with your experience, be acertive and open mind.

You should sell yourself and say that you are worthy of a specialist's title, GC15. Many upstream GC 15, 16 and 17's that are expat and non-mgmt. Get it going in because it takes 5 years to be considered for a GC bump and if you are within 5 years of retirement forget it. They sc--w you out of the promotion, pay and uptick in bennies. Good luck.

GC14 is effectively one level before management. There have been cases of expats promoted to the GC15 but don't place your hopes too high on that.
Anyways best of luck and milk that cow as much as you can. Make sure not to get carried away with the lifestyle (fancy cars, furniture and whatnots) and invest all you can.

GC 14 is one level below "management". It is almost impossible for an expat to progress beyond that point, so be SURE you are ok with the salary because it will never go up.

Upstream maintains its own systems, so you would be part of that silo. If it is ever integrated with the rest of Aramco there could be mass layoffs.

Pet Engineering has a rep as one of the tougher places to work. Not necessarily bad, just tough in a no nonsense sort of way.

Good luck to you.
