They are still going after engineering. Last week they fired / continue to fire a ton of people in Engineering, IT, Finance and marketing. Word is they are outsourcing a TON of the functions while they continue the plan to sell this company in pieces....

“Fellows” are being bounced around to be cut. One in Melville (guy can barely tune his radio and likes to backstab in perfect rezi fashion ) one in GV (just spins and spin and take credit for others like his buddy in Austin)
Let’s hope that at least they clean up Melville soon.

Tragic situation for so many people who have kept their heads down and worked hard, yet some people who should take responsibility for why we are in this mess keep finding soft landing spots. Unbelievable!!

Yea, what happened this week was much much bigger than they are letting on and they are desperately trying to keep it quiet. It’s certainly not over either. The rush is related to the numbers. q1 is disaster. They state some of the cuts they are making will make them look a little better but still very bad. They got rid of some really great people this round due to decisions being made by suppliers and out right clueless leadership just looking at salary and to talent. I guess they should enjoy blaming this virus as long as they can because they won’t be able to do that forever. People really need to get out as soon as economy opens because there is no saving this.

Directors not affected in Austin. Fleshligth was on the list but started the vacuum pump... worked. He pointed the finger to someone else and to all of us he gave the middle finger... incompetence at its best

So more layoffs to come...any idea when the next round of beheadings are happening?

Employees were scattered around the country/offices. Don’t think numbers in one site would lead to the below.

So this dying company would only have to file under WARN if....

50 to 499 employees at one site were let go and it was 33 percent or more of employees assigned to that site in a 30 day period. So wfh assigned to the site would count in this numbers. How many people work in gv and Melville?

Or

500 or more employees let go in a 30 day period at the site.

The 30 day period rule is how they usually get around this.....this is why the drag out layoffs over months or years.

If they did the 33% rule to get this done ASAP those numbers seem about right and would indicate they stuck to keeping it at or just below 33 percent to avoid having to file under WARN

Nice work hr

With the level of incompetence at this company anything is possible. With the contract they make people sign to get their package pretty much has people signing their rights and their ability to sue away. How would one know if they did file under WARN act?

Did those sites receive a WARN Act notice 60 + days ago? If not, I call BS on the numbers. Mass layoffs like this require notification 60 days prior.

Also, the ages and titles are required for anyone over 40. It’s a required part of the ADEA.

I’m HR (not at this company). If they’re really laying off that number of people without WARN Acting everyone, those people need to find an employment lawyer or file a claim with the department of labor.

Mtx - I can confirm these numbers are accurate. For legal reasons, They now include a list of titles and ages of those impacted with the packages to try and prove it’s not age based discrimination which it usually is. The list was many many pages. Someone impacted shared this with me. They are also telling those left that this will be the last reduction for the rest of the year. This is not true as I’ve seen yet another list being formulated. There may be some truth to them selling the pieces of what’s left of this company.

The only bad thing is looking for a job in the middle of the shut down but I am still seeing jobs being posted.

This has truly become a fourth string company ...no talent or skill from the top down.
