Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Who are the good leaders?

Can we make a list of the people or teams we all should actually want to try and work with if we don’t like where we are? I know it’s an odd concept here but a list of positive teams or orgs with good leadership?!? Any?!?

Looking for leaders with real vision that care about people and the work. Maybe we show the company what good looks like for once.

My immediate manager is great as well. The higher up the chain of command I look, though, the more fake and douchey people are. Unfortunately, real and relatable people tend to stay low to mid level (along with the least professional jerks) and the fake a-s people with connections end up on top.

Somewhat ironically, the personality type that most people hate on a personal level is also the personality type people envision when they think C-level. Thusly, they are the ones that end up getting placed there.

There goes my dreams of being CIO. I just can't force myself to be that freaking fake.

I have a wonderful manager. My team is phenomenal. I take on anything, and I’ve learned & grew more in a few years than most grow in 10. I had the motivation cause it’s within and I did all I could to prove my worth, as I’m sure you did too… In the end, did it matter, I’m still being sold to the next highest bidder. How I look at it- Good for them, they got my team & me, we will just have to show how damn good we are. Cigna’s loss, another’s gain. Amazing work ethic is hard to come by these days. I ki-l it on a daily and expect nothing less, good luck, I hope you elites having a few more bucks made it worth for you, I’m in it for the purpose & long haul, not the fast cash because as we all know… that’s not sustainable. People need a purpose, and to provide for their family, while making it profitable & worthwhile for your tax write offs, it feeds our family & we love making a difference, enough said. In the end, the work-a-bees WIN…. And that makes u all so mad…. We are for the greater good, you all are for your pockets that make you, yourself, feel good. #justbevetterthanyouwereyesterday #itsastart

I don’t know anymore my supervisor now and the last two I had ruined my business relationships so company is pretty hollow to me at this point. Branching out and being curious gets me in trouble haha don’t come for me but I do like the highest level management like CEO and crew but they for me I don’t even know anymore I’ve been isolated. In my mid year review my manager told me hey do you want to learn this business process because me and this other girl on my team don’t want to do it anymore…well…I guess I’m not moving to a new role cause alas, it’s not about you, it’s about what you can do to put them in the position they want. Use a resume writer and start applying. If you even haft to question whether your manager is good and will support you, just leave. Cigna will be fine without you and you’ll be fine without Cigna.

Most of those have been purged from the company over the last few years. It’s sad to see.

My immediate manager is great. It’s most of the ones above my immediate manager who may have talent in specific areas, but aren’t very skilled leaders.

All of the good leaders that I looked up to have jump ship, their replacements who were good, smart, and competent people, but not great leaders have then also left. What's left are the people who don't want to be leaders but forced to or people eager to become a leader and the position to help improve their resume so they too can leave.

No clue. The management I’m under doesn’t have an inkling of the work I actually do. How they have individuals in leadership roles without any real-world experience is beyond me. I could never imagine hiring a “manager” in software engineering without a shred of software engineering experience, LOL. It’s all over Cigna.
