Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

At least we have a better CEO than Musk

On the bright side, Don’t expect SM to send this to us any time soon.

Anyone who actually writes software, please report to the 10th floor at 2 p.m. today.
Before doing so, please email me a bullet point summary of what your code commits have achieved in the past 6 months, along with up to 10 screenshots of the most salient lines of code.
Thanks,
Elon

If you're working remotely, please email the request below nonetheless and I will try to speak to you via video. Only those who cannot physically get to Twitter HQ or have a family emergency are excused.
These will be short, technical interviews that allow me to better understand the Twitter tech stack.
Thanks,
Elon

If possible, I would appreciate it if you could fly to SF to be present in person. I will be at Twitter HQ until midnight and then back again tomorrow morning.

Musk is a nightmare. However: his offer for still employed Twitter employees volunteering to leave for a 3 month severance — I respect that.

I’d happily take it and hopefully save the job of someone who wanted to stay here.

Why are we comparing trash with trash? They're both trash.

@3fgm+1jMHiejq Tesla stock is down 55-60% YTD, while Teradata stock is down nearly half of that YTD.

There's no nice way to lay people off. But trying to base the decision on who's been working vs slacking at least seems fair. Makes you wonder what criteria the TD ELT used to identify people to let go.

Yeah. It would be a shame if Teradata employees had to actually work and show accountability.

Do we? I don't like Elon's ways and politics but he gets things done. SM is useless
