Thread regarding CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield layoffs

What is the deal with social media?

Why is my social media FLOODED with CF associates? Sharing stories and articles about CF? Each post as so many hashtags (including the ever present difference maker).

I get it- being proud of the company you work for- but this is strange. Over the top.

Honestly- are you guys getting paid to promote CF on social media? If you have so many CF posts in a week is your name entered into a drawing? Perhaps your compensation is based on # of social media posts?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Associates are recruited as brand ambassadors and asked to post to social media.

Regarding the “good work being done in the community”- by associates who are currently and have always been part of the community. Associates have consistently volunteered and uplifted their communities- absolutely. The difference prior to BP it was done humbly- as an act of service because we work and live in the communities we service.

Now CF is focused on a social media presence , ratings & brand awareness. Even donations (PPE, diapers, masks, etc) have the CF logo on it. It’s obnoxious & superficial- just like the leadership.

The associates are an amazing asset the company doesn’t appreciate. Regarding the low morale- there are amazing companies out there & they are hiring. Take the leap of faith- your only regret will be that you hadn’t done it sooner.

Having worked at CareFirst for more than a decade I celebrate the good work the individuals within this company do each and every day. Even though there are many challenges to the new leadership and the way this company is being run today I will never take away from the hard work of the associates within this organization. So with that being said I share content on social media platforms to show the impact we make on our communities. That’s not a bad thing in my opinion even though the morale is very low right now - it doesn’t diminish the good work being done.

Probably just trying to make it look like it’s still a good company since so many have described how bad the culture has become.
