If your that nervous and obsessed on when the next layoff date will be, then start looking for a job. Drinking/worrying/driving yourself crazy will not help. Find a company that you feel would be a better fit for you. If you think it's Target, then stick it out, find a mentor who has gone through this transition type before and learn to deal with the pressure. If you honestly are a great employee, they will keep you or you will find another job that will appreciate you.
I don't understand this hyper anxiety, you have been warned when it's coming (up to the next two years), make the decision for yourself to leave if you don't feel it's worth the anxiety.
Listen up 118390, alcoholism strikes many people of many ages. The OP was reaching out and may or may not be a kid...don't be so quick to judge and be condescending. What TTS and Target is doing is completely BS and not the company we once knew. Now it's culture is more like Walmart. Just take a good look at yourself before pointing the finger.

How is this helping you? It isn't - you are going to need all of your inner reserves to weather the transformation, don't do it with frayed nerves. Headaches, nausea, and wasted money don't improve your planning and reacting skills. And who is excessive drinking hurting? Only you - BC and the rest of the C Suite don't give a sht if you damage yourself and it's one less severance package to write if you wrap yourself around a telephone pole after bingeing. Straighten out and put your game face on... when the going gets tough we need you to have your sht together, not have you moping around like a self-pitying punk..
