Do you think Richard Ramirez will get promoted to COO Q1 2026?

If you are ruthless and with narcissistic traits, they see you as leadership material.
Because the thrust of G&A per barrel and the wave of M&A made a good job market for REs who will run Aries at 11PM on a Friday.
Every function has people who want to GTFO.
RR has entered the room ;)
lol RR having authority...if Apache was ever a serious company since 2014 it sure as he-l isn't now. I do not miss hearing that guy bloviate on the 5th floor in Midland.
RR may use overly complex language and talk longer than necessary, but he is genuinely trying to get things done. The problem is that the ELT doesn’t know what they want and can’t make any decisions, except to layoff people and encourage others to look for jobs.
@368+1k10sw39z that's what you learn in an MBA
@2pn it has been that way for over two year since the last regime change.
RR is really good at saying a lot with fancy vocabulary without saying anything at all. That’s why he is in line to be the next Permian GM.
RR - wayyyyy worse. HUGE head since starting an MBA
MD … the worst
Agree. That dude MD omg
many geo people looking for jobs but job market is bad, with few few exceptions geo leaders are the worst
@1xa do you think they pay more for foot pics with a tattoo of the Apache logo on it?
I know a few Geos have eyes on the door as well, but for some reason REs have had a decent job market this year.
Hopefully we can pull in a few of y'all at our new companies too next spring >:-)
Stay with a company that has only 2-3 years of inventory or sell pictures of my feet on OF? Seems like an easy decision to me.
We have no reservoirs to engineer...that's why!
We also split geologists into three thirds. Why are they not leaving?
What’d they expect when they split the job of RE into three different roles? 1/3 is still functioning as an RE, but with far less technical rigor than previous… 1/3 attempts to repeat this, and 1/3 does the b work of forecasting.
Many people at Apa have been looking for jobs somewhere else, for years, some are lucky… others know they are not good to compete out there…
A pathological and pathetic form of “leadership” that actively undermines morale to maintain dominance.
Will there be any leftovers by year end? Why is the head of the function still here if we lose that much talent?
Apache doesn’t need things like science. Science is for chumps. Things Apache needs: 1. Employees who are loyal. 2. VPs with director-level talent. 3. People who know how to plant trees. 4. More Astros signage, preferably centered on the presence of petroleum products in hot dogs. 5. EVPs with Advisor level talent.
Land is also expendable. All you need is a banker bro who was CFO of a company who committed massive fraud. Draw some sticks on a map and we’re golden. Sprinkle in dudes with the same name as fish and a bunch of former Marathon people, and you have a recipe for mass success. If you don’t see it, then you’re the problem!
Everyone in planning is either manager, or director, or advisor!
Planning will fix it all! We don't need geoscience or reservoir engineering or a portfolio.
Company has made it clear they no longer value Reservoir Engineering or Reservoir Engineers, people are reading that message loud and clear. It’s been a long decline since the planning mafia took over.
Form your own opinion on how that reads into the future success of the company.
