How do you square this decline with the inherent value of the MPP? To my mind ..
-
either they market has lost the non negotiable need for its benefits, which unless I drank too much kool-aid, cannot be denied or even minimised in any honest informed decision process for those big workloads;
-
or the need is still there but the competition somehow manages to bamboozle the customers convincing them they need something else than what their true problem requires?
For if we did have a genuine technological superiority, even tech debt laden, a leap to cloud and a year of investment would improve the outlook. But if the issue is that we've genuinely become replaceable by a second best with a bearable pain... it's time we call it a day.
Am I missing something?
PS. Theoretically there may be a third alternative - we're not even that great and we are delusional about what makes us so unique. But I don't believe that for a minute, I'd start looking elsewhere right now.
