Thread regarding CDK Global Inc. layoffs

CDK Buys Full Ownership Of Sinking Ship CVR

deets: https://www.collisionrepairmag.com/cdk-global-acquires-full-ownership-in-computerized-vehicle-registration-cvr/

CVR is almost as old as DMS, and runs on some really ancient tech. The only thing keeping it afloat is the government contracts, and even those are starting to fade off. Most of the serious tribal knowledge of the product got laid off years ago, so don't hold your breath waiting for it to get modern or secure.

Good luck with that boat anchor.

Makes perfect sense. They want to increase Return on Net Assets so they will have full ownership and spin it off so they are getting ready as they see to be bought out at a higher valuation. Sad but this is a reality

@2xmg , these articles have -everything- to do with layoffs, since this is an indication that what's left of CVR is going to get it in the neck next. With no contractual ties w/ R&R to prevent it, CDK can spin it off, or just k--l it off entirely.

If you weren't a brain dead HR muppet you would know that.

In response to "What’s up with these link spamming id--ts.": Spamming id--t here. The explanation of why CDK took sole ownership of CVR was an attempt to let CVR's employees know their days in the company are numbered, which is consistent with the theme of this site. So sorry you haven't the intellectual capacity to understand that.

In response to "Why would cdk want full ownership of cvr?":

In the past, CDK and R&R owned CVR in a 90/10 split, with R&R giving CVR sales rights to their customers in exchange for a share of the profits. R&R had no say in how the business was run.

By having complete ownership of CVR, CDK is in a much better position to spin it off.
