Thread regarding Saudi Aramco layoffs

Is the paycheck worth all this?

I hadn’t even tried to look for a new job before because I was happy with my pay. Back then I had some other priorities. However, money is not enough for a sense of fulfillment at work. Maybe for some people money can drive day-to-day satisfaction, but for me, paycheck alone has become an insufficient motivation to stay here. People want to feel respected, useful, they want to grow and be inspired, and that’s getting harder to achieve here.

What are you talking about? you are making millions? who are you kidding? 99% of people are staying? That's not true either... a lot of people are leaving. The ones that are not leaving want to leave but can't because they have nothing where they come from. So people coming from the western countries are not staying as you are trying to make us believe

99% isn’t exactly true LOL but your prattle on this site is pretty entertaining 😂
Funny - I saw dozens come and go, I only saw a few layoffs. But we’re part of that elusive “1%” who came, worked, cashed in, and left and I worked a lot more then than you appear to do there. It was just another job for me dude. You? Effectively demonstrate that a loser with money is just a louder loser. Sort of like our ex-commander in tweet.

Salman, you're bitter because you got the boot leaving millions of $$ behind. Don't cry poor thing. Jealousy and envy are ki----g you. Minority last 6 yrs????? Hahaha, joke of the day. Majority of Western expats in the company have been here 6+ yrs. 99% of expats don't leave unless they retire or get fired. You know why mate? Because the money is too good and 7-4 doing minimal is too good to pass. Enjoy unemployment and bitterness while the rest of us continue to make and save millions. Bye bye. Your incompetence is what got you fired.

When the cash no longer compensates for the mental and physical health damage it’s time to leave.
For some thats after a few months, some a number of years, a very small minority make it beyond 6 years.

The health damage to cash ratio is headed in the wrong direction for many, hence the exodus of existing expats and the p1ss poor quality of the incoming.

No longer are the company attracting top flight expats, they’re now in lower 3rd or upper 4th quartile and dropping fast....

Nothing less than their behaviour deserves by the way, the “management” (or lack of it!) only have themselves to blame for the absolutely dire situation in which they find themselves.

It turns out Karma is a b1tch after all!!!

His perspective is probably worth listening to. A lot of people who retired from years ago when Aramco was a different organization could probably not hack it in todays work environment at Aramco. It is totally different. So fond reminisces of how it was " back in the day" for expats are hardly relevant for todays expats.

Okay Blow Heart: Are we really supposed to believe you? The Company used to pay 88 cents on the dollar (in the 1990s) for labour burden. I retired from this company.
