Toxic work atmosphere at NCR

NCR culture is a total mess. Management is all about cutting costs and making sure everyone knows they're replaceable. Instead of teamwork, they're making us compete to keep our jobs. It's wrong in so many ways and it feels like they're doing it on purpose. The whole atmosphere is unhealthy, plain and simple.

I worked 3 plus years there as a AE. Ounce the role changed 3 times ! Equipment would fail and management helped but really we were at the mercy of implementation and the equipment working. On the last year the pressure to sell went high up and with unrealistic goals and very improper management communication. After doing great years before it was always sell or you could be fired! A shame Aloha is a good product .

Just remember, it's easier to find and land a new job while you're employed vs dropped at the curb. Companies are interviewing now for start dates after the first of the year. Believe me I know I'm in the hopper with 3 already. If a rif comes my way soon, great I get an extended holiday season and a severance. If not I'm still out of here after Jan 1st.

serbia helpdesk is so toxic. i've worked with different team from different countries and theyre the only one that doesnt google stuffs when they dont know an issue.

Day to day work is very different for CE’s depending on where your territory is, some techs have not enough work, others are run to death long hours and long distances. If your’re in a bad territory compounded with low head count and. Bad manager, find another job, you will be miserable.
You have to control your own situation, if it’s not manageable then find another job, it’s not worth it.

If you were doing any of that to begin with, wow. On one hand, I feel sorry for you. On the other, that's on you.

A lot of this is a US culture problem. You allow this to happen. You partake in it. We watch as outsiders and scoff at those notions. For example: I take all of my time off, and then some. Always have, always will. Any suggestion otherwise is laughable.

You're completely missing the point. It's not about behaving badly, you're still doing your job. However, No more 50+ hrs weeks, No more missing your kid's recital or missing your gym workout or logging in when you get back home. No more losing your vacation days. Come in do your exact job and leave. Use your PTO. Your last day is going to depend on your position in a spreadsheet, nothing more nothing less.

People come and go, the work comes and goes.
Are you trying to punish them with a bad work attitude? They don't care.
Are you trying to teach them a lesson? they care even less.

Folks, it’s a job not a career. If you don’t like it leave. If you are so insecure about finding another job you can wait for a RIF and then search. Not a position of power. Look for a job now.

I understand but think about it. Respect is a two-way street and respect is earned, not given. For the last 20 years or so, top level NCR management has not respected the field, customer facing folks. From all appearances, they only care about bonus.

So, why should we give a Rat's @55 about them or work or butt off for them??

When I was RIF, my local co worker was bad mouthing me and back stabbing me until I was let go. It was awful how the boss played into it all. People will do anything to save their job, but in the end they will get RIF as well.

I am glad to get a RIF, got me out of the toxic work environment .

It is on purpose. If you leave, then no severance, cheaper for them. Get even, unless you find a great job with better pay and benefits, stick around, only do what you must. Then at RIF, take the money and run like “mullet boy”
