Thread regarding Marathon Oil Corp. layoffs

Slackers and WRH will 1st to go....

We know who the slackers are in each department. We know who demanded to work from home. These two groups will be at the bottom of joining COP. The solid performers and those who show up in the office each day will be ones that have a chance to join COP.

It's a pretty sweet severance package actually. Clearly you don't work for the company.

I suspect anyone on a PIP the last couple years has been at the office all the time, clinging to that work station, sleeping there at night

Do you really think the slackers will be the first to go. Dream on. They match the skills up with what positions they have to fill. Marathon employees in duplicate positions with COP or who don't have the skills will be the first to go. Then if they don't get the numbers they will start cutting based on performance. Naturally those on PIPs will be the first to go. But slackers are rarely those on PIP's.

  1. 9% of Marathon employees won't be carried over to COP.

The remaining 0.1% will be laid off within the first 6 months.

Seriously, there will be a selection process based on past performance. You have to also recognized that companies want folks back in the office to collaborate as teams face to face. Team meetings just don't cut it. Those working from home will have to face the fact this will be a negative in the selection process.
