I will be working this weekend. This is the best choice for me. I love my job and am grateful for my team.
Here's some advice for those who are trying to make their decision:
-
You will not get paid by att for any time you are not clocked in. CWA will not pay you a dime until AFTER 15 days of striking.
-
You CAN continue work. You CAN cross the picket lines. If you do not want to leave your customers and managers, you DO NOT HAVE TO.
-
The union CAN NOT fine you if you choose to work as long as you have to do is RESIGN your union membership before working. Very simple process.
-
You can resign your membership in any state when the contract is expired.
-
If you resign, you do not lose ANY benefits.
-
If you are looking to ever be promoted, as I am, I would do anything possible to help my managers when they need me. They will remember.
-
Look up how much your union leaders make. Many of them are well into the 6 figure range. This comes directly from YOUR check. They do not do this just for your benefit. Think about it.
