Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Recent Intel CEO progression

Otellini - Non-visionary + Non-technologist + CLUELESS
BK - Non-visionary + Non-technologist + MALICIOUS
Swan - Non-visionary + Non-technologist + CLUELESS
Gelsinger - Non-visionary + Non-technologist + MALICIOUS

At least the next one might not be malicious...one can hope.

Gelsinger, who was formerly a Chief Technology Officer of Intel is not a Technologist?
Right.

He may be a technologist, but only just. He's more of a business poseur and fraud.
See his tenure at vmware, where he pushed out the competents and rewarded the dullards.

@2wck Being a technologist is not a pre-requisite for being a CTO, sadly. Case in point, the current CTO, Lavender couldn't tell a transistor from a diode. Pat was an architect once upon a time. But he has zero innate knowledge of what it means to get a process technology to HVM ready.

I feel the PO is the best of them all even though he is not a technologist. The sad truth is that Intel will be lucky to have a CEO like him again.
