apple users are re--rds. they believe they are wedded for life so why not just stay happy and not complaint. getting a feature on an iphone is the thing for them while it is used widely in android echosystem.
Apple would be fine if people are willing to buy laptops with 8Gb memory. Apple customers have lower average IQ than android users.

What goals did the Sr Director not meet in your opinion?
I had a Sr Dir who was so incompetent, he couldn't even execute a PIP on an engineer that needed to be PIP'd !!! Someone else had to step in and do the PIP. What happened to the Sr Dir?? He got promoted to VP !!!! True story.
What PIP culture looks like? Does company need to pay significant amount for PIP culture? It is more cost effective to implement geo shifting.

@3tpb Only theoretically. In practice, there is so much VP/Director incompetence being covered up by other VP/Directors it's not even funny. It's putting the fox in charge of the hen house. From poor planning, poor technical decisions, poor communication, poor interdepartmental cooperation, poor prioritization, poor lab organization, poor engineer assignments, poor hiring decisions, blatant dishonesty,...the list goes on and on. Trust me, they don't get pip'ed. They fail upwards as they promote each other.

@1wsf Hey, Einstein, many 100s of disgruntled Q employess and ex-employees, all have some kind of character flaw, according to you? Disgruntled w/o any cause or reason? Look at the managers more closely, hold them to SOME kind of standard, pip THOSE su-standard employees that affect morale of many people in a big way, leading to massive loss in productivity and damaging the company overall. "Pip the disgruntled"- ha. You must be a manager yourself. Clueless.
Apple needs be more like Q and layoff more people.
Biggest failure is lack of pip usage resulting in disgruntled employees staying longer than they should and bringing morale down.
