Yes, no, maybe? Or likely only at 20% previous years while VH and the execs pay themselves huge bonuses for our stock being back at 20.

@2XPM, i have family that stays at home during the day, so my a/c stays at the same temp all day when I’m at work. That’s who does that. Duh! Like the other poster said, what’s wrong with being rich? You should work harder and accomplish more in life instead of being soooo green with envy.
@2vpw+195AudzA if you know people who buy lunch with company's card as a norm, you're higher up. NO ONE I know buys lunch on company's card lol Mr. Fancy Pants.
My internet bill went from $34 ish to $54+. More usage means higher cost... Duh . My AC stays at 82 when leave the house and back down to 74/75 when I'm at home... so no it doesn't stay the same throughout the day. Who does that?? You richhhh. Since I've been WFH, my electricity bill went from $70 ish in 2018/2019 summer to $160 on average this past summer.
You are too rich to understand how us plebs live... lol.
@ Where are the Cost Savings
I take it you are a entitled Houston or Midland office worker because last time I checked buying lunch costs more than groceries, unless of course you guys are always buying lunch on the companies dime using your amex coorperate card which I know is the norm over there.
I don't which internet provider you use but I haven't really seen any mainstream companies charging for data, you just pay for speed tiers with unlimited data unless your using some bootleg internet service provider, or you might be stuck in the year 2005, who knows really. Lol extra electricity cost? I am sure your laptop and central AC which is turned on 24/7 whether your home or not is making a huge dent in your electrical bill.
TLDR: Your argument is very stupid and has 0 valid points.
If I had a dollar for every power point slide I did this past year as my bonus I’d be able to retire early.
I agree that oxy should pay something for annual bonus or people will walk when things turn around. At least half of last years. We already took a 30% pay cut and didn’t get raises last year (likely won’t get them this year). Do the right thing VH. And everyone gets to wfh that’s not a bonus that’s a requirement to prevent oxy from getting sued.
Yea, the dry cleaning spoke volumes. Also, saving $200/mo on gas? What does she drive, a Hummer?
@1vbu+195AudzA again here.
Savings on "dry cleaning". This alone let me know that you're higher up on the food chain. Sorry, my family shop at Ross and can't afford dry cleaning like you Mr./Ms. Fancy Pants. It's no wonder you believe YOU don't need a bonus. More power to you, but maybe don't speak for the rest of us working extra hard and DESERVE our annual bonuses :).
Cheers.
@1oto+195AudzA I absolutely agree that those people need to be replaced but that is management's fault, not the worker bees'. In our position, we can only hope that managers aren't playing favorites or blind to whoever is taking advantage.
So why are the slackers on WFH still there. They should have been laid off last year. Hopefully they get cut soon and don’t get a bonus or an LTI. The Bar system should help with the identification of this group of low performers.
Work from home savings? It has been a wash. The additional cost of groceries, the extra cost of additional data on internet. Additional cost on electricity. Washes out the savings of fuel, maintenance and eating out. The commute time savings is eaten up by the extra hours worked while at home. The only benefit would be less stress from not sitting in traffic.
You people are funny, as in funny stupid.
A bonus is to reward good work, not as a plan put in place to mitigate the spread of a potentially deadly virus.
WFH has been great for a lot of slackers, but those who work hard, work even HARDER from home. The time saved on commute is most often put back into working hours. We pick up slack from people who have taken the VSP whose position have not been replaced due to the hiring freeze. Some of the money we saved on gas is put back into paying for better internet connections, higher cost of A/C and heater, water and creating a well stocked and distraction-free home office.
WFH has been a God-send in terms mitigation infection and saving the company cost on replacing employees by spreading the work across the team. Don't get that twisted with how goddamn hard we STILL work to keep the company afloat from the very bottom.
Thanks~~~
Employees that show up for work should get a bonus.
Employees WFH should consider that their bonus.
Not pulling data on commute? Were you watching the road or watching GOT?
Here’s your bonus -
$200 a month savings on gas. I used to fill up weekly. Now maybe just once a month if at all.
$50-$200 month savings on not eating out lunch/coffee/breakfast
$10-$50 a month on dry cleaning
40 hours a month back - 2 hours a day saving on commute. Y’all that’s like a weeks pay every month.
Free up hours of weekend time by running laundry during the week. Eat dinner at home because you can start the crockpot at lunch.
Flexibility and Hours to sneak out for that dental appointment. Or hit the grocery store on your lunch break.
Saving 30 minutes a day because who is doing thier hair and make up anymore?
Saving on clothes. Who gets dressed? Pj’s and sweats every day.
Not putting miles on the car extended it’s life another year. Savings $600 a month bc no new car payment needed. Not needing oil changes as often saved another $100 this year.
Savings in cell phone bc not pulling data on commute. On WiFi at home.
Those savings are more than any raise I’ve gotten in the 15 years I’ve worked there. Add it up and compare to 3% raise if you’re lucky.
The last post is right on the mark. Oil company people as a group are both spoiled and greedy. Working from home and still expecting a bonus with so much debt and a low stock price. Dream on.
I can’t believe you people are asking about bonus. Am I missing something? Explain to me like a Kindergartener. No not HR here but your coworker who got to work from home for almost a year already and while productive most of the time, had /has the freedom to take care of things at home during the work day or take mental health breaks without having to take PTO. This is a great deal. Keep your bonus. I’ll take a 10% paycut if I can work from home for the rest of the year.
I heard it will be paid in equivalent buddy bucks.
Nada
Yes, I know.
