Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Shareholders Meeting

Why is VH still on the ballot? It can only be because she expects to get voted in again. One would think she will get voted out but if that were the case wouldn’t she resign first? How is this going to play out? Why would she stay on the ballot knowing she will get voted down?

I'm so sick of our management and the status quo here. VH and the entire board need to be voted out. I don't care anymore, it can't be any worse than it is. Sell all of Oxy in bits and pieces, I don't care. Just bring in all new people, and don't let our worthless upper management make another decision or see another dime, if at all possible. That's why I voted as follows:

1A. For
1B. For
1C. For
1D. Against
1E. Against
1F. Against
1G. For
1H. Against
1I. For
1J. Against
1K. For

  1. For
  2. For
  3. Against
  4. Against
  5. Against
  6. For
  7. For
  8. Against

Last favor?!?! By recently changing the layoff parameters for us, and making it horrible? By letting us name our price, but turning down most requests, and not allowing us to qualify for unemployment by going this route? How is she showing she cares about us?!?! What an abusive relationship.

At this moment, she is ceo or not does not matter much. I think personally she is a good person .She is doing her last favor to us, as this is our last chance to get a package like Jan layoffs. Do not aim unrealistic high. After may 28, who ever on the job will clean the house. It will be bloody.

Not being voted for the CEO job, but for her position on the board. I voted against her spot on the board, and if I could I would vote her out as CEO. That will be the board’s job to do if enough shareholders want her out. Only thing is we need someone as CEO that will move us forward, and the last thing we need as a CEO is literally any member of the ec, or Oxy for that matter. To just move up someone from the ranks does nothing. By the way I voted against anyone on the board that was involved with the Anadarko acquisition. Time for change!

End-September 2019 LOXY VSPER here.

Sold most of my LTI shares upon receiving them, but held onto 3,200 shares to avoid putting my family into the next higher tax bracket.

Voted all my scant remaining number of shares AGAINST everything the BOD was FOR.

The toilet must be flushed completely!
Why does VH have the gall to not resign and retain shred of honor?

The same goes for any of the original Oxy EC.

They think they can still win?

I will be tuning into the virtual meeting on May 29th. Should be more interesting than usual.

Well even though icahn’s 10% may vote for her, won’t the majority of shareholders vote against based on performance , despite the board recommendation?

She is still here because of the fact that she is the known. Can you imagine any leader wanting to take on this role in this environment? Additionally, Ichan's board seats saved her role for the time being. They now have 3 seats at a small table and essentially everyone knows that they are running things. He will sell off assets or the company any way he can... just look at his history. With her in place, Ichan can get it done. A new leader might try and actually do something to right the ship. It's not sinking, but it is certainly dead in the water until the scavengers/pirates pillage us.

I think VH intended to use this voluntary resignation offer game to win the popularity again. But she is wrong about human being as she forgot not everyone has a golden parachute. This game will totally burn the last sense of mercy to her. She is out for sure, so will be the entire management team. Give at most half a year, the house will be cleaned by the next Board. It is painful. But at least oxy will have a future. And who will be let go will leave with dignity . For younger generation ( less than 35 years old ), it is time to think changing career. Oil and gas business will be really bad for the next 10 years. It would be to late to find another way to feed the family.

Did you read the proxy statement? The BOD recommended voting “for” her
