Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Silent Service

Providing a service and being compensated to provide for my family has always been first . No special recognition was needed . Sacrifices have been made by plenty of men and women as such over the decades. Present Day my opinion has changed . I believe it’s time to cash in on all those years of working terrible hours , missing family events , lack of sleep . The general public has no idea what it takes to keep this country moving and our silent service . 30yrs of silence our time is due to get the recognition we deserve. Words such a essential employee need to be addressed. Being forced by a pro labor White House , Congress back to work shouldn’t be an option . “Vote with you’re wallet “ they say yet here we are . Time will tell as we stand here at the crossroads to finding out where the Democratic Party stands as far as union labor . Every other union in America should take notice !!!

@2uxw+1inMKBcx You should think about real hard about your opinions, before you post on here. You say that you hate both political parties, but you highlighted your hatred for the right side without commenting on the current problems created by the left side. Your comment on the Keystone XL pipeline was completely ignorant on your part. Do you remember what gas and diesel prices were before it was shut down? If you don't remember, then ask around to if you want that answer. The elimination of the pipeline abolished thousands of jobs when it was shutdown. The pipeline didn't have branch lines to go to every state, so any negative effect on RR jobs would have been minimal or at all. The need for trains to haul the crude to various states would've still been very much needed. If you have a political opinion, then here's an idea for you. Do an internet search to find another forum to do your political sparring with others that might actually care. If you think the current state of affairs is okay in the US, then you are a part of the problem. Stop being part of the problem!

The key stone pipeline would have put a lot of railroaders out of jobs dummy. The railroads transport the crude that the keystone would have moved. I hate both political parties, but the republicans are NOT for the working man. They want to abolish social security, Medicare, etc, all the while giving massive tax cuts to the wealthy and corporations. Forget the culture war b.s. and do some research into the people you vote for.
