Wow wtf?? Obviously that argo guy has no idea on engineering or business mindset. Why would they use higher end vehicle for test cars? As long as test car fits the size and required sensors are there it should work. Why the f they would care if its bmw or mb? Escape is new platform and easy to find parts / cheap to source parts. Go work for bmw then id–ts.
Who was fired? AV ceo promoted to Ford CFO...

I agree. I have had a similar experience. Once I was asked/coerced/forced by my boss to ask for some information from Argo AI for one of the Ford "meetings" - You know.. the meetings to our hierarchy where we take others work and show as our own — and I was basically told to F-off.
Actually I didnt feel mad at that Argo person, I would have done the SAME thing if I was her, but it still does'nt change the fact that she told me to F-off.
Yep, the Argo people are always quick to point out they don't work for Ford. AND they have no qualms with ignoring Ford and their requests and basically telling Ford to F-off.
I was in the garage when an escape with all the autonomous c-ap came in. I said I would close the door, which I did. The person was complaining about the escape to the passenger and that the technology on it was worth more than the escape itself and it was a lame vehicle, blah, blah ,blah. I just joked and asked what they would want to put it on and he said not anything Ford has, maybe a Mercedes or BMW. I said well you work for Ford and he said, no I work for Argo AI.
But least they have cold brew coffee foosball machines,ping-pong tables. Their work is super secret and you have to have a card to get into the suites.
This group has done absolutely nothing worthwhile since they were acquired. Smart Mobility acquisitions have all been monumental failures.
