@2unl: The adjacent business in Q will never take off. Two words - incompetent management. QCT itself is saddled with incompetent management. Yet, they survive because of 2 reasons: (a) competition has not been up to the mark so far, and (b) intellectual property. The adjacent businesses have no chance - by the time they get their act together, competition will catch up. Auto pipeline is promising now because each design win pushes the statistics - when you have 5 customers and add a couple of new ones, your growth is 40%! Competition is not sitting idle either - NVDA is a strong contender and they have partnered with MediaTek for connectivity.

Anyway, coming back to the original question, adjacent businesses in Q is always "handed out" to the sycophantic but loyal loser in QCT who could not succeed in growing the QCT business. Guess what happens? Some history here - One of the C suite persons never wanted QCT to dabble in SoC - it was Sanjay Jha's initiative - Sanjay Jha leaves and this person rises up - loyalty pays. Another initiative is Mediaflo - was "handed over" to another bunch of loyalists - could not even get off the ground.

Its a shame, even AMD is ahead in the game. The adjacent business will take a long time, we have 40B to materialize in the Auto pipeline... have patience in 2030 we could be in the list.
