“Empathy is foundational to how we deliver for our clients and how we attract and retain talent.”
This is a quote from Jane.
Is this some kind of sick joke??

Post ID: @2udy+1ryWz1DQ This must be a joke. If this is what they really are thinking, they think so little of their employees that they would believe this bullsh-t.
Jane, Mark, BCG and Executive "Management" are Marie Antoinette along with their BvllSh!t speeches about "Empathy" i They insouciantly and carelessly decide who will go to the Guillotine AND tell everyone to Eat Fvcken Citicake !!! There's even been a proposal going around to have Birthday Cake Days every month to inveigle Svckers to RTO ! It's Citi Antoinette's many ways of saying, "Let them Eat Cake !"
Jane's (and Mark's) "Empathy" speech was just PR BullSH!T. Corporate America saying one thing and doing the Opposite. Corporate Doublespeak in Citi Oceania.
do as i say not as i do
Jane lies. To employees, media and the stockholders.
Citi’s VOE is just lip service. A tool to create more complicated procedures.
When jane took over and announced the sales of retail banking in the APAC/EMEA region.. Her comms email often state "empathy" or "we're a bank with soul"..
Now, instead of empathy, her comms email has phrase like "no room for bystanders".
Btw what happened to the "Win in wealth" campaign for APAC by 2025 that was set in 2021? Are we anywhere near that since its just about a year more to go..
Jane, at the time of the quote, was just paying lip service for the cameras. It makes for a good story. Obviously she can talk the talk but cannot walk the walk.
Any true leader empathy or not, would opt to NOT take a raise in pay while the employees either were laid off and\or received less than a cost of living raise, until things got better. Well, not ole Jane, nopper, she’s out for number one and will assuredly “get hers”.
Now is the time that someone chimes in with “CEO from company X took a huge bonus when they let people go” . I’m not talking about other companies, I’m talking about Citi. Besides, if that’s your measuring stick, to compare with other poor leaders as to how you should act and emulate them, then you yourself are not one (a leader) to begin with.
All that aside, the layoff is necessary to make sure to:
a.) cover all the monumental ball droppage decisions made under Jane’s watch.
b.) make sure there’s money in the pot to cover Jane’s raise+stock options given.
Don’t kid yourself in thinking she cares, she does not. You and I, all of us, are pawns to be maneuvered or discarded as she sees fit in order to benefit her. You doubt that, then see points “a” and “b” above.
